Father's Day

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 17th and my husband's birthday is on the 19th.  We will definitely be cooking up the meal of his choice and celebrating with cake and candles.  The cake is mostly for our four boys. I will make a cheesecake for my hubby that is more his style.

This year we are celebrating by spending the day with my husband in San Francisco.  We will be taking the ferry from Vallejo down to Pier 39 one of our favorite things to do. I like the idea of doing an activity in honor of Father's day.  An outing or activity is a great way to spend time together, find something your dad or husband has been wanting to do and enjoy an outing out with the whole family, it could be as simple as a picnic in the park.

If you are still in need of gift here are some classic gift ideas that we've done before.
Gift Cards (restaurants, movies, golf, favorite store)
DIY Gift Basket (filled with favorite snacks, grilling theme, movie theme)
Cologne
Photo Gifts (mugs, canvas, key chains, phone case, etc.)

Nuts About You Gift

I hope you enjoy this Father's Day weekend celebrating the fathers in your life, with the recent celebrity suicides, make time to express your love and appreciation for the people in your life.  It just saddens my heart, the hopelessness and loneliness they must have felt.  I had a friend in high school who committed suicide and I remember thinking how young he was and when I heard of Anthony Bourdain at age 61 and Kate Spade at 55, I still thought, so young, so much more life to live, so much more life to give.

Father's Day is a great opportunity to pause and say thank you and express your appreciation for the gift of fathers.  Dads can be so fun, they add a dynamic like no other.
