If you are not familiar with STOMP it might be a difficult task for me to provide a proper explanation so I will let this excerpt from their website (www.stomponline.com) do it for me "Matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters and more fill the stage with energizing beats at STOMP, the inventive and invigorating stage show that's dance, music, and theatrical performance blended together in one electrifying rhythm".
If this sounds loud, exciting, and unique you are correct. But don't think rock concert level of volume. The sounds build and draw you into the performance and add a level of emotion to the spectacle similar to a symphony or traditional musical performance.
STOMP would have my recommendation for kids 10 and up or maybe even younger if they are particularly interested in or participate in, dance, theater, or music. One item of note is that STOMP is presented without intermission so a squirmy child or those little ones with minimal attention spans might not be ready for this nearly 2-hour event.
The incorporation of physical comedy was something that I had forgotten over the years. The light-hearted elements from the performers are sure to get a laugh or two even from the harshest of critics. In addition to the comedic side of the show, there is also dancing of various styles, and circus level tricks with their props.
We were invited by Julie Gallaher from Get on the Map, and SacramentoTop10 she created the #instayelpatweetasnap community if you are a local Influencer I encourage you to check out her site, sign up and get invited to fun events like these. I am so grateful for blogger events like these and even more so when my husband is able to attend with me. Here is the link: https://getonthemap.us/instayelpatweetasnap. Our group met along with other influencers from TheBlogBloc I was grateful to meet the beautiful and friendly Kachet I've followed her beautiful Instagram for a while. We gathered at Downtown and Vine before the show for drinks and appetizers. There are a ton of great restaurants downtown to choose from, Downtown and Vine is beautiful and near the theater right on K Street. You can also use your Broadway ticket and receive a discount at participating restaurants, to find participating restaurants click here http://bit.ly/2Rth6ZR.
Find the best event parking in Sacramento by booking a parking spot in advance with SacPark. You will have the ability to reserve your spot ahead of time at any City-owned garage or Certified Partner parking facility. I parked at the Capitol Garage at 1133 10th Street and I thought it was a great spot, not too far to the Theater.
Attending Broadway on Tour makes a great date night or friends night out! This Stomp show is super family friendly again I would highly recommend taking your children especially if they have a love for music, theater, and dance. Last season my sister, mom and I attended Bodyguard here at the Sacramento Community Center Theater and I recently attended Waitress as well. I have always had a wonderful time at Broadway. I would love to catch the upcoming Disney's Aladdin. I would love to hear from you have you attended Broadway on Tour? Which show? Which one are you most looking forward to attending?
