Monster Jam Review | Sacramento August 13-15 2021

Disclosure: I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows.  Even though I receive these benefits, I always give an opinion that is 100% mine.

YAY Monster Jam is back at the Golden 1 Center here in Sacramento! This weekend only, August 13-15th, so get your tickets now!  Tickets are affordably priced for the whole family with seats starting at just $25 each* Pit Passes are priced at $20 each.  Tickets and Pit Passes will be available for purchase online at Ticketmaster.com.  Please continue to monitor the venue website at Golden 1 Center for entry requirements in advance of your event date.

It has been so long since we have been inside the Golden 1 Center, I think I was just as excited or even more excited then my kiddos.  I could tell Sacramento was excited too, there were quite a lot of fans.

Monster Jam is one of our favorite events, we love seeing these BIG trucks spin around doing donuts and cool tricks. We love the interactive voting part.  There are competitions between the trucks and you can vote for your favorite right on your phone.  Grave Digger was the winner across the board for Friday's Opening Night.

A NEW part of the show this year was motorcycles jumping a big ramp and doing flips and tricks in the air.  This was really neat and my favorite part of the night.  If you want a sneak peek check out my Instagram Stories @BlogAboutItAll.

If you have never attended Monster Jam, it is really loud, if you have younger kiddos, bringing ear protection or some kind of ear plugs is important.  They do have ear protection you can purchase there, but if you want to save some money, buy them before you arrive.

Golden 1 Center is aiming to make events as safe as possible, I saw the staff enforcing face masks, from ushers going up and down the stairs, asking you to wear your mask if not eating or drinking.  When we were in line to buy drinks I saw a gentleman in line without a mask on and a staff member walked over and told him they would not serve him if he did not have a face mask, he put one on. Everyone sitting near us kept their masks on, unless actively eating.

I received my tickets via e-mail as well as a "Guide to Monster Jam".  You can scan your tickets as you enter at the contactless scanners.  You can reserve your parking spot ahead of time at SacPark.org. In the e-mailed guide it stated about the mask requirement and listed health and safety protocols. They are asking each guest to attest that you are either vaccinated or have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to the event.  They give information as a partner with Drip Hydration for discounted testing.  They are using the honor system, as they do not ask for proof of vaccination and test results.  You can read more on their health and safety protocols here

Bags larger than 8"x6"x1" are not allowed, and I saw them being strict on this.  They were permitting infant bags and medical bags.  All bags must go through an X-ray machine.  The entry line we were in, went rather quickly and smoothly, even with needing to wait to have my handbag go through the X-ray machine.

They had Monster Jam merch and souvenirs for sale as well as sno-cones, popcorn and Golden 1 Center Food (nachos, hot dogs, pizza and more). The lines were really long for food, it looked like they had less concessions stands open, so I think that is why the lines were long for food, or maybe just everyone was super stoked about being inside the Golden 1 Center and were extra happy to purchase from the concessions, not sure.

I know a lot of people feel very passionate on both sides about masks and vaccinations. I spoke with friends before the event some expressed excitement about events coming back and are hoping for life to return back to "normal". I also have friends that don't feel quite ready to take their family to large indoor events.  I understand and I empathize with both sides and know there are so many variables involved.  It is my personal opinion that every person needs to decide what is right for their own family.  I personally feel ready to travel and attend events.  I think you should stay home and away from people if you have any symptoms of any kind to help stop the spread. I think each person needs to use wisdom and be as safe as possible. Please be kind to one another and know this is a time like no other and we all are trying to navigate through life the best we can.
