Mandalorian Season 2 Snacks | Baby Yoda Guacamole

Is your family excited about the Disney+ Mandalorian Season 2 Release?  Our family has been anxiously awaiting the NEW season!  To celebrate we are making some Star Wars inspired food and crafts.

Go check out my Instagram Stories TODAY 10/28 for details on how to enter to win some Disney Magic @BlogAboutItAll.  Be sure to follow my friends for more Disney Inspired fun @JanelBerchielli@KatiesAdventureBook@LoveOfTheMagic, and @LizOnCall. First I shared the cutest Baby Yoda Sugar Cookies, our DIY No Carve Baby Yoda Pumpkin and now Baby Yoda Guacamole!

You definitely have to have snacks for a Mandalorian watch party right?  What better snack than chips and guacamole, and not just any guacamole but Baby Yoda Guacamole.  This is easy to make and delicious of course!  Be sure to check out our Baby Yoda Sugar Cookies too, they are super cute and perfect for dessert.

Normally when I make guacamole, I would have diced tomatoes, cilantro and diced jalapenos.  Since I need this guacamole to be a little more kid creamier and simpler for Baby Yoda, I am going to keep it simple which my kiddos prefer anyway.

Baby Yoda Guacamole Recipe

Ingredients:

Avocados

Sour Cream

Diced Onion

Tortilla Cutouts for the eyes.

Jalapeno for the ears.

Directions:

Mash the Avocados, add in diced onions and 1/3 cup sour cream, the sour cream helps it be smoother and creamier.

Scoop the Guacamole onto a white round platter, shaping it into Baby Yoda.  Use a Jalapeno sliced in half for the ears and cut out eyes from a tortilla.  Surround with tortilla chips and there you have it Baby Yoda Guacamole. This is the perfect snack to enjoy while watching the NEW Mandalorian Season 2 on Disney+.

DIY No Carve Baby Yoda Pumpkin in Celebration of Mandalorian Season 2

In celebration of the Mandalorian Season 2 Release on Disney+ I am teaming up with some fellow Disney loving friends over on Instagram for a fun giveaway, starting Wednesday, October 28th.

Go check out my Instagram Stories on Wednesday for details on how to enter to win some Disney Magic @BlogAboutItAll.  Be sure to follow my friends for more Disney Inspired fun @JanelBerchielli@KatiesAdventureBook@LoveOfTheMagic, and @LizOnCall. First I shared the cutest Baby Yoda Sugar Cookies and up next is our DIY No Carve Baby Yoda Pumpkin!

We purchased a real pumpkin, you could also do this with a faux pumpkin.  I went with a white pumpkin, I thought it would be easier to paint green than an orange one.

First we painted the entire pumpkin green using lime green paint and let dry, next we practiced drawing the face on printer paper.  I ended up cutting out my drawing and then tracing it with a pencil onto the pumpkin, then I painted in the face.

I used paper bags to make the ears, which I painted and then hot glued on.  You could use construction paper for the ears too, whatever you have on hand.

This is a fun craft to do as a family or have each child make their own.  This was a ton of fun and I forget how therapeutic painting, crafting, and baking can be.

I hope you try this, even after Halloween, we all love Disney themed fun.  Hey you could find some great deals on pumpkins after Halloween on clearance and make your own Baby Yoda pumpkin for fun and half the price! A faux pumpkin will last all year long, this would be great to do for a May 4th "May the Force Be With You" Star Wars Day craft.

Homemade Mandalorian Baby Yoda Sugar Cookies

Disney+ has confirmed the release date for Mandalorian Season 2, drum roll please for October 30th!!!  This is fantastic, I think it is perfect timing with the Halloween holiday weekend.  My boys and husband loved watching the first season of Mandalorian and they are super excited for Season 2.

To celebrate the new season, I am going to share some Star Wars themed fun on the blog and doing a fun giveaway.  First up, I am sharing how to make easy Baby Yoda sugar Cookies, coming later this week I will share our DIY No Carve Baby Yoda Pumpkin and Baby Yoda Guacamole.

Our giveaway will start Wednesday, October 28th, in celebration of the Mandalorian Season 2 Release I am teaming up with some fellow Disney loving friends over on Instagram for a fun giveaway, go check out my Instagram Stories on Wednesday for details on how to enter to win some Disney Magic @BlogAboutItAll.  Be sure to follow my friends for more Disney Inspired fun @JanelBerchielli, @KatiesAdventureBook, @LoveOfTheMagic, and @LizOnCall.

First up Baby Yoda Sugar Cookies, I've seen this cool hack on social media so I thought I would give it a try.  No need to go out and purchase a Baby Yoda Cookie Cutter, just use your Angel Cookie Cutter. Depending on how your Angel Cookie Cutter looks, I have seen some people who chopped off the Angel head making a rounded top in between the wings.  My Angel Cookie Cutter does not seem to need that, I have an older metal one, that I just shaped the head a little bit by pressing it down, I think this shape will work perfectly.  Of course once frosted with the brown and green is when it will really come together.

Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

3 1/4 cups of All-Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1 Cup of Butter Softened

1 1/2 Cups of White Sugar

2 Eggs

2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Directions:

1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together, set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually blend in the sifted ingredients until fully absorbed. Cover dough, and chill for 2 hours or overnight.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with Parchment paper. On a clean surface sprinkle powdered sugar instead of the normal flour, roll out small portions of chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
3. Bake 6 to 8 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are barely brown. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.

Cookie Icing Recipe:

2 Tablespoon Softened Butter

2 Cups of Powdered Sugar

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

1-3 Tablespoons of Milk

2 Tablespoons of Corn Syrup

1-2 Drops of Food Coloring

I used McCormick Neon Green for the green part of Yoda, and added 1 drop of regular green to get this green.  I used the Wilton Brown food coloring with a 1 drop of yellow to get this brown.

Directions:

Beat the butter, vanilla and powdered sugar together until smooth.  Add in Milk a tablespoon at a time to get the consistency you like.  Add in the Corn Syrup then add in needed drops of food coloring, remember that the food coloring liquid will also make the icing thinner.  So add less of the milk if needed.  If it is too thin, you can always add in more powdered sugar to thicken. Decorate your cookies and let icing harden on parchment paper.  If you let the icing sit too long it will over thicken, just add more milk to soften.

Session 3 – Committed To Stay The Course
Session 4 – The Guide That Will Make Your Trip Smooth
Session 5 – Enthusiasm: The Power Within You
Session 6 – Bring Your Energy To Peak Performance
Session 7 – Things You Never Want To Do Again
Session 8 – 8 Transforming Principles That Will Maintain A Life of Excellence

Session 1 – Evaluate Your Life For Balance

You want to accelerate your personal growth? You must start with a personal evaluation of your current status.

Discover your strengths and weaknesses. Capitalize on your strengths and shore up your areas of weakness. Without accountability there is no responsibility. Evaluation will establish your baseline to show you areas in which to grow.

Session 2 – Defining Love For Success

Eliminate judgment…. Now that you are committed and energized,
you need to make a commitment to not be sidetracked. Challenges, trials ugly people and situations will come to sidetrack you. Learn to love at all cost. Ugly produces ugly; love produces success. You will be reminded of what you need to do to walk in the fullness of what is available.

Session 3 – Committed To Stay The Course

Commitment eliminates many of the pitfalls that will keep you from your growth and success. Commitment will keep you on track and save wear and tear on your life because you do not have to keep rethinking the same decision over and over.

You will learn about quality decisions – those decisions that, once decided, are never retreated from. You will save time, effort, and money with your commitment to excellence.

Session 4 – The Guide That Will Make Your Trip Smooth

I have had the opportunity to travel to many countries of the world. I am fortunate to always have a guide – someone to show me the best way to get to the best place, quickly and easily. Your evaluation will now help you to develop a guidebook that will guide you to the growth you desire.

You will avoid delays, detours and destruction if you will stay on the right path and follow your guide along the way – a path of discovery and victory.

Session 5 – Enthusiasm: The Power Within You

The Greek word, entheos, means “from within.” Your lasting enthusiasm comes from deep down on the inside — rooted and grounded in love.

True enthusiasm makes no room for discouragement. You will be energized from the inside out. You will be able to hold steady and to fulfill the assignment by using your true compass — that which has been established on the inside.

Session 6 – Bring Your Energy To Peak Performance

When you know where you are, have decided where you are going and have made a firm commitment to the path, you become energized. No more wasted time deciding about or doing the unimportant. No more fighting against the cause you desire.

You will find yourself strengthened, energized, sleeping better, not binge-eating or wasting time. Now waste will be eliminated, causing you to have plenty of reserve to run on each day of your life.

Session 7 – Things You Never Want To Do Again.

Certain things are not allowed in the excellent life that you have chosen:

Quit; make excuses; lie; dominate; stop growing giving, guarding or guiding.

Learn how to identify the pitfalls in the early stages as well as to live a life full of these opportunities.

Session 8 – The 8 Transforming Principles That Will Maintain A Life of Excellence

Maintain * Monitor *  Mingle * Motivate * Continue * Accountability *  Grow from others * Teach

Now that you walk in a life of excellence, these eight guidelines will keep you on the path. Each one is designed to maintain the life that you have come to love, appreciate, model and demand.

Voted as number 1 ice cream in Sacramento for over 38 years, their commitment to excellence has remained the same. "Ice Cream brings joy and happiness to all." It was that simple truth that led Dave Leatherby (Daddy Dave), and his wife Sally to open their first Creamery in 1982. Dave Sr. and wife Sally dreamed of a real family business in which all 10 of their children might be able to work together.  Fast forward 38 years...the Leatherby family now owns and operates 3 restaurants, all whilst keeping the same goals in mind. Since 1982 customers from all over Northern California have flocked to Leatherby’s for enormous sundaes, great food, and a fabulous family atmosphere.

Leatherby's Family Creamery has become an integral part of family life for the entire Leatherby family.  A family that now has over 100 people, many Leatherby family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and other relatives still work at Leatherby’s today. To us, the ice cream parlor is our home away from home. It has allowed us to enjoy what is most important in life…family and friends…and serving others.

Of course Leatherby's is known for their ice cream, they also have delicious hamburgers and many other meal items on their menu as well as delicious take home treats like hot fudge and caramel sauces.  Leatherby's has three locations in the Sacramento area.
