We love Mr. Tortilla Low Carb Tortillas, we were beyond thrilled to hear about their NEW 1 Carb Tortillas, we definitely had to try them!

The 1 Carb Tortilla is not only one carb and Keto-friendly, it is also Vegan! They are street taco size and absolutely delicious.  This post is not sponsored in any way, we ordered and purchased these tortillas on our own, of course since we loved them, we wanted to share this great keto-friendly find with all of you.

They are available in two flavors, multigrain and pico de gallo.  I love them both, my favorite is the pico de gallo.  They are durable and pliable!  When I say durable, they hold up with a lot of meat.  When we have used corn tortillas before, many times we double them, because they tear, these Mr. Tortilla 1 Carb Tortillas hold up, only one is needed.

They are $4.99 per pack, each pack has 24 tortillas.  I only wish they were available in stores, soon, hopefully soon!  We ordered one of each first to try and we love them so much we already placed another order.  You can save on shipping by ordering three or more bags, definitely worth it if you love tacos as much as we do.

I am so grateful for healthier, Keto-friendly options that still let me indulge in my favorite foods.  I thought the size was kind of small when I first heard about these and saw them on social media, but I must say I like the small size.  With normal size low carb tortillas I would eat two, and even if I wanted another one I would refrain to watch my carb count.  Since these are small and only one carb it is satisfying to be able to eat 10 tacos and not feel guilty.  I will say four is plenty for a meal, especially if you load it up with meat.  Also four is plenty with a healthy side salad or side of cauliflower cilantro rice.  I just love that I can have 10, if I want to and not feel like I went overboard on my carb count for the day.

I have not yet fried them, but I want to cook them up taquito style, or crunchy taco style, they have been so good just as is, so we've been eating them just warmed up.

For more info and to order your 1 Carb Tortillas check out Mr. Tortilla here. These 1-Carb Tortillas are low fat, low calories, and low sodium.  Made with organic Non-GMO flour and OU Kosher Certified. Thank you for reading if you’ve enjoyed the content you’ve read above please share with your friends.  BlogAboutItAll.com

I aim to stay positive and to cultivate an attitude of gratitude no matter what I face in life.  I will be the first one to tell you focus on the good! While I believe we have the capability of picking ourselves us up in the midst of what we are going through.  I also want to share that I don't always look through rose colored glasses.  I have bad days, sad days and want to stay in bed days too.

A little background I have homeschooled my oldest son for three years, and loved it!  I am extremely grateful for the one on one time I have had with him.  I am grateful that I don't have a 9-5 out of home job, that I am even able to have homeschooled.  My goal was to start adding one child to our homeschooling mix, each year.  The Lord started to put on my heart early last year that I needed to send my son to back to school.  Then not only that, our boys have attended a small private Christian school all their school years and the Lord put on my heart that it was time for a change.

Deciding and settling on changing schools was a big thing for me.  Not only a change of schools, but also making the decision to send them to a public charter school was a huge change for us.  I love the school the boys attended, I love the heart of the teachers, I love the small class sizes and so much more. We made the decision, enrolled the boys in the new school and actually started to get excited about the upcoming school year and then COVID-19 happened.

We pivoted and adjusted just like everyone else and went to distance learning for the last part of the school year and it went pretty smooth.  I am grateful we found our routine and settled in to distance learning.  We were looking forward to summer break as well as the new school, the upcoming school year, and the excitement of my youngest starting kindergarten.
I was pretty positive the new school would open with social distancing guidelines and some kind of hybrid model of half days and I was okay with that.  I know some parents do not want to send their kids back to school and that is okay.  I am a firm believer in you must go with peace.  You want to know what will work? You do you, you go where you have peace and faith in where God is leading you.  I believe each parent has ascribed wisdom from God on how to parent each of their children.  What might be right for our family is not what may work for your family and vise versa.  You know what doesn't work, being stressed, anxious and fearful, our kids are impacted by our emotions.

This entire school year is difficult on everyone, no matter what choice you make, this is all new to everyone.  If you keep your kids home and have never homeschooled there is daily adjusting, finding a routine,  there are family dynamics that need to be worked through.  If you send your kids to school, there are face masks guidelines, new drop off and pick up procedures, no matter what you do, this school year is NEW and different for us all and it all just sucks to be honest.  It's hard for the teachers, who have their own families now distance learning while they have to teach other students online.  This is all just crazy.  I have friends who are single parents, how in the world are they supposed to work from home and teach their children, I have other friends who are essential works and still have being going into work through this entire pandemic, not all of them have someone who can stay home and school their children.

I think even if you were already a homeschool family, this school year is different, in the sense of that is the only choice available in some states, we are in California, so we don't even have a choice to send our kids to school.  Just knowing you don't have a choice has a way of working on you.  Even as a homeschooler we had many more choices available for extracurricular activities, on-site music lessons, cooking classes and more, and with COVID-19, everything went online to Zoom, Skype and online lessons.  So even homeschooling is not the same.

WIth the new school, we had pretty high hopes of at least having the choice to participate in the distance learning program or the in-class school year.  Last week we received notice that everyone would be starting this school year with the distance learning program.  Not what I wanted to hear, especially for my kindergartner.
I am not as concerned with my older children, they will be fine, they can handle the distance learning program.  I know my kindergartner will be fine too, I was just really have a moment, he is my last child.  I wanted him to have that kindergarten experience and joy that all my other children have had.  The joy and excitement of the first day, taking a lunch box, meeting new friends, circle time and field trips.  Thinking about all the things he isn't starting off with really bummed me out.  I went off my Keto eating lifestyle and found myself emotionally eating.  My heart aches even greater knowing this is my baby, my youngest and not only does he miss out on all those kindergarten firsts, I miss out on experiencing all those firsts one last time too.

Normally I would have a ton of Back to School posts and preparation, I love the Back to School Season.  I love shopping for back to school supplies and I have not bought a single thing.  I see a lot of mom's decorating a room or space for distance learning and I don't even want to think about it.  I hate this entire situation.  Right now I forsee everyone around the dining room table for book work and when they need to be online for Zoom, Skype and Chromebook work, they will be spread out around the house.
I went through the moment of "Jessica, pull it together and work it out." I went through the guilty emotions of not embracing this season.  But you know what, it is okay that you are not okay with this school year and this situation.  You know what I know to be true...you are not alone.  I also know in my weakness, He (God) is made strong in me as I look to Him.

2 Corinthians 12:8-10
Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

You know what else I know is true, all our kids need is us.  School is important, education is important, social interaction is important, but you know what else is important FAMILY, HOME, learning those everyday life skills.  Having those hands on, everyday moments of cooking, baking, cleaning, leisure reading.  Having these moments with my son in our homeschool life is one of reasons I fell in love with the idea of homeschooling.
My encouragement to you is to do the best you can!  Everyday wake up with a clean slate and do what is needed for that day, for that child.  Even with four boys who are similar, they each are very different, what works for one of my boys will not work for another.  We will all be given curriculum and lesson assignments to figure out, I refuse to stress about it.  If they get through it then they do, if they need a mental break from the book work and go outside to look for bugs, and jump on the trampoline, that is important and essential too, and that is what we will do.  There is no handbook, for these days, because they have never been done before, so I will put on my adventure hat and march on, one day at a time.

How do you get a kindergartner to sit for an online lesson?  If my son is in front of a screen he is used to viewing one of his YouTube favorites or an online game, not a school lesson.  You know what I know is essential, reading a book with him, coloring, practicing writing his name, singing the ABC's.
Bottom line, this school year is unlike any other, do what works for your family.  For all of time, there has been "un-schoolers", "homeschoolers", and you know what everyone makes it.

I remember when I first told people I was going to homeschool, you get all the comments, "what about socialization?"  I find it ironic that now you hear about social distancing, and the comments are the opposite.  "How will you teach?" I find it ironic, now you see all the memes about kids learning the old school way of multiplication and not the "common core" way.  "I don't think I am patient enough." Guess what, even the most patient person, will have their patience tried.  "How will you juggle homeschooling and everything else you do?" Just like everyone else will, we adapt, it is what we do.  There is never enough time in the day, not for the working mom, not for the stay at home mom, there is always more work, always something more to be done.

Now that I have had my moment of tears, and eating all the carbs, I will do what parents do.  What is right for our family.  Good parents always wonder "are they learning enough? "Are they adequately prepared for college?" "Am I equipping them with the life skills they need?"  The fact that we think about it and try shows how much you love them and how much you want the best for them.  Trust your love, trust that you were hand selected to parent your child.  You are equipped to give them what they need and God will also lead and provide others and tools because guess what as much as we love our kids, God loves them even more.

As much as I hate COVID-19, I believe that God is working through it all.  God did not cause this or bring this but I know Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

One thing I am grateful for in this COVID-19 season, I am was made aware of how we go about our everyday life taking many little things for granted.  We really are privileged to live in this time of crisis.  We do not always grow and learn the things we need to learn about ourselves when we are living in the comfort and ease of everyday life.  It is through crisis seasons that we are forced to step into our capabilities.  It really is all on the inside of us, we just don't realize it until we have to use it.

If you are not one who typically prays, I encourage you to look to God for strength and help, He will help you get through this.  If you allow Him to, He will use these times and circumstances to your favor and for your good.  He loves you and knows our frailty.  He is okay with you coming to Him and saying "I don't like this", "I don't want to do this", and then in full surrender saying "I need your grace and I need your help to face each day".  Prayer, meditation and reading scripture, or a devotional is great for your own mental health, in getting through these times.
I will focus on all the positives and trust that while I don't fully understand everything that is taking place, I know that God is working!  He is always working!  He never stops working!  Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness, that is who You are.

I will rejoice that in our weakness and feeling less than, His strength is perfected in us.  You will not find a mock school room set up on my feed, we will probably have all our books spread across our dining room table and be four Chrome books deep.  At times I'll have to send one child to the backyard and one child to his room, because four boys, need I say more.  You will find me hopping on social media when I can reading an encouraging scripture and sharing some other mom's color coded schedule and  organized by color home library, as a resource.  I will remind you that we will get through this and to throw out everyone else's measuring stick for success, don't measure by anyone elses measuring stick for distance learning and I will say do you, be you, get in the kitchen bake and cook with your kiddos.  Read out loud together.  Enjoy great family discussions, and take joy that you get to have this special, unique moment in time to enjoy your family, and yes that includes the hair pulling out days, the three cups of coffee mornings and the we are eating cereal for dinner evenings.  There will be those days when they are done, when I am done and you know what that is okay, one day at a time.  May we cheer each other on and encourage each other on those hard days that tomorrow will be better!

Walking daily has so many benefits! I have been walking daily for quite awhile now, I think it has been three years, maybe even four years now.  I will tell you it has not always been easy.  When I first started a friend had to come to my house and walk with me or I wouldn’t go on my walk. I often would make excuses and try to cancel, I would say "it’s too hot" or "it’s too cold" or "I’m too busy I don’t have time to go on a walk". I am so grateful she would just show up, even when I would text her and say "hey I don't think I can walk today."  Sometimes it would be sprinkling out and she would show up with two umbrellas and say come on, we can still get a walk in.

We walk two miles and it takes us about 35-40 minutes, we walk together in the morning and then I walk again in the afternoon.  I try about three days a week to go for a third walk, especially when I can get my husband to go with me, I love to when we get to walk together.
Walking daily has now become one of my favorite daily habits, I need my daily walks. I see the benefits in my body and mind. Walking helps clear my mind, sometimes is the only time in the day that forces me not to be multi-tasking.  I cannot walk and text, or walk and be on my phone.  So when I walk I listen to a podcast, or talk with my friend, or walk and pray and it really is just a great time of refreshing.  When I have missed a day in walking my muscles feel tight and I feel tense.

If you have been meaning to exercise or miss going to the gym I encourage you grab a bottle of water and go for a walk today, you’ll thank yourself.
Just get started, walk to the mailbox, go for a twenty minute walk, walk with a friend.  Hey it is a brand new month, go daily or to start pick three days this week you will commit to walking.

I wanted to share, as I mentioned above walking daily has not always been easy, I remember when I first started how out of breath I was.  I remember how sore I would feel if we went a different way that had a little more bit of an incline.  I also wanted to share in 2019 I had hurt my back and had three bulging discs.  I could barely walk I walked super slow, what normally took us 40 minutes would take well over an hour.  During that year my walking buddy also had knee surgery, on some of those walks she had a walker and we looked in really bad shape.  People would actually ask us "are you okay?" Yet we still walked!  There was a part of our walk with a slight decline and we would literally slow down and almost brace for impact.  It was bad and yet we still walked.  I say that because I know when you are first getting started it can be an uphill battle, it can feel impossible.
I've lost well over 50 pounds since then, walking is easier. Yet it took time, I did not lose the weight overnight.  I also changed my eating habits during this time.  I will say walking also helped me stick with my eating habits, they both go hand in hand.  When you make choices to be mindful of your health, in drinking more water, and taking more steps, it will inspire you to eat healthier.

A couple of things I have found helpful, take a bottle water with you, staying hydrated is important.

Stretch before you walk and find comfortable walking shoes with great padding.  You may think that walking is easy, and think you don't need to stretch, that is not so.  Why are good shoes important, you body still feels the impact of walking on pavement especially if you are going to walk daily.  I see since walking daily, I go through shoes much quicker.
Another tool that is worth the investment is a step tracking bracelet.  I really enjoy having my Fitbit tracker, this especially was a great motivator in the early days of walking.  I love that it vibrates when you are inactive for a period of time.  This helps me be mindful of how sedentary we can be.  I also love seeing how many additional steps I can take from the previous day.  Make it your goal to take 10,000+ steps a day and then go from there.  When I take my two walks I easily hit 10,000 steps.

Here are just a few of the benefits of walking:

  • Improves sleep.
  • Reduces stress.
  • Reduces depression and improves mood.
  • Increases your lifespan.
  • Lowers blood pressure.

Put on Your Walking Shoes | Benefits of Walking Daily

  • Easy on your joints. Walking is a low impact exercise.
  • Improves circulation, lowers blood pressure.
  • Improved digestion, keeps things moving in your GI system.

Thank you for reading if you’ve enjoyed the content you’ve read above please share with your friends.
I thought I would share a little blogging update and some blogging business tips that have helped me in my blogging journey.  These tips can really be applied to any business not just blogging!  I started blogging in September 2014, crazy how fast times goes by.  I really had it on my heart to start blogging since 2012 after experiencing a miscarriage, I came across a blog called 10KReasons.  On this blog Sarah shared her journey of healing after losing a baby at 20 weeks.  She decided to blog daily things she was grateful for, her goal to reach 10,000 reasons in one year.  Her blog so ministered to me and helped me through my healing process.

I was so grateful for her blog, and knew how much it had helped me.  I started to think of all the things I experienced through life, and how my life experiences may help others.  It is pretty amazing how when God places something on your heart, how you see His messages everywhere you go.  One of those messages was the song "Calling All the Messengers" by Lecrae, it was released in 2014 and it seemed every time I drove in the car, it came on, it stirred in my heart to get to blogging.  I wanted to share my faith, I also wanted to share everyday life, practical things I have learned, recipes, things on budgeting and marriage, really all of it, that is why I chose the name BlogAboutItAll.  A friend of mine had started a coupon blog, Diana over at PantryOverflow.com.  I went to lunch with her one day and was sharing how I wanted to start a blog and she just simply encouraged me to "just get started".
As a stay at home mom, blogging gave me a creative outlet to share from my everyday life with a greater reach of people than my circle of family and friends.  I never imagined it would eventually be so much more.  There are times when I face a mental block, and don't necessarily feel the creative juices flowing. It is during these times when I remind myself of the "why" I started blogging and take just a brief moment to remember how much I have grown through blogging, my passion for blogging is easily stirred and creativity follows.

Blogging has brought friendships that I would have never had without being involved in my local blogging community.  I am so grateful for the circle of blogging and Instagram friends that have been so kind, supportive, inclusive and even opened their homes to not only me, but also my family.
Blogging has forced me out of my comfort zone. By attending events, networking, being on television, radio and teaching classes I've had experiences that I never would have thought possible.  If you have ever considered blogging, writing a book, starting a business I hope these tips will help you.

Get Started
Do not wait for everything to be perfect.
Do not wait for the perfect logo or theme.
Do not wait until you have the money to start.  You can start a free blog!  I believe the moment you take the step and get started you will see provision and things come together to help you reach your dreams and goals.

My first couple of collaborations and sponsored post I was like a fish out of water and had no clue what I had gotten myself into. Saying "yes" to new things is a great way to start. You don't have to be an expert, most of us learn best by doing, so say "yes" to new things that come your way. I never want to cross a moral line or share things and blog about things that I don't believe in, however part of being a sponsored blogger or social media influencer is simply brand awareness and marketing.

Get Started-don’t wait for everything to be perfect you will grow in your craft, skill.  It is in doing that you gain experience.

Consistency is vital in every area of life. Want to be healthier, you have to stay consistent, there are no shortcuts.  Walk everyday, drink water everyday, we have heard it over and over and yet, people myself included sometimes yearn for the shortcut.

Having a healthy amount of post and post ideas from the beginning will help your attract different audiences as well as expose your initial followers to you and more of your content.

To help with consistency you need to schedule your posts. Create a content calendar.
Look for writing prompts. Think of the National Days that are celebrated.  Think of information or life situations you are certain about and share those.  Once you get started, you will find creativity begins to flow.

Find what will work for you and stick to it.  Require of yourself to blog twice a week for example, schedule social media posts once or three times a day.  The amount will be different for each person, the key part is consistency.
Social Media is an amazing tool!  Most people have one platform that produces great results for them and they tend to not stay caught up with the other platforms.  I understand and see the value in investing more time in one that brings greater results.  I still will encourage you not to neglect the other platforms.  You can broaden your reach by utilizing all platforms.  I have come across people that are very active on only Instagram for example, for others it may be twitter.  Well if you only post to Facebook, you are not reaching that person who is most active on Instagram.  It has become easier to post across the board to all platforms and I highly recommend that. I know I speaking from a blogger perspective, I still think it is true if you are an electrician, or an author, social media in essence is free advertising, utilize it.

I will also say in regards to Social Media is I know it is a lot of work if you want it to work for you.  You cannot just think about what you are posting for your page, your business.  You will greater success if you like, comment and share on other's pages.  Not only have I reaped the benefit from a business perspective but again, I have built friendships that I adore that were brought about through social media.
Collaborate!
Collaboration is not only good for your business it also great for personal growth.  Surround yourself with others who are blogging or writing, if you are writing a book for example.  Hang out with people who do what they do well.  Study them, and learn from them. Again you will learn from others and see things from a different vantage point as you collaborate with others.  Don't limit yourself to just your age group or let's say mom groups, be willing to learn from the young and old.

In connecting and collaborating with other bloggers remember to help promote others, even those in your same field.  As a blogger and small business owner, you know the benefit from others liking, commenting and sharing your posts, remember to do this for others.

Let's say you are a food blogger, and you meet someone who blogs kid friendly recipes, and you meet a Vegan Food blogger, share their blog posts on your blog and your social media pages.

Collaborating with someone that is not entirely similar to you and your blog or audience is a great way to get exposure to a new group of people. My blog is not likely to attract Harley Davidson mechanics so that is a bit too much of a stretch to collab with someone in that space. If you are doing a food centric blog and collab with someone doing mostly arts and crafts, it is a great mix for some excellent crossover.

I find true collaboration to be rare but so essential.  It has been one of my biggest goals since starting my blog to be willing to share tips, and contacts with other fellow bloggers.  Always choose collaboration over competition and I promise you will reap the rewards, I have watched it in my own life time and time again.
Give of your craft, talent, and services.
I believe you should know your value and I understand how much work and hours go into blogging, writing, taking pictures, editing graphics and pictures, making YouTube Videos, scheduling social media content.  A lot of work goes into creating and distributing content and I believe in charging appropriately.  I also believe that you should find ways to give back!  You can give of your craft, talent and services to local non-profits, charitable organizations and local businesses.

You limit yourself if you only look at blogging to "make money".  You will make money, also look how you can make a difference in your community.  Find causes that you are passionate about and use your platform for good.

Below is a picture of a community event that I not only purchased tables as a sponsor of the event but I have shared their event annually on my blog and social media platform, raising money for the new Dignity Health Neonatal Intensive Care Unit being built here in Sacramento.  This was a great way for me to give back to my community and also invite fellow bloggers and connect with them over a great cause.
Be willing to give discounted or even free advertising to help those in your community.  Remember what it was like when you first started your blog or business and be willing to help others just starting out.

I will always remember one lady in particular who I met attending a blogging event, when she introduced herself and I told her I had just started, she gave me her contact information, she also recommended groups I should join, and offered info and resources, I will be forever grateful for her kindness and I always aim to return that kindness to others.

Aim to always go above and beyond!  When you do have a sponsored content or a contract of services to provide do extra!  If they are only asking you to post on Facebook for example, why not post also on the other platforms especially if you are starting out and growing your business, be willing to work for free, you will attract more business.  From a faith perspective you reap what you sow, even from a business perspective as a business owner, I would rehire the person who goes the extra mile.  You will be remembered and stand out in a sea of bloggers.

I hope these tips will help you no matter what area of business you work in.  Thank you for reading if you've enjoyed the content you've read above please share with your friends.  www.BlogAboutItAll.com
