My favorite thing about meatballs is they are quick and convenient! We love to eat meatball sub's, spaghetti and meatballs, since I have been eating a Keto lifestyle I love zucchini squash and meatballs or zucchini noodles "zoodles" with meatballs. I often pair meatballs with a side salad.
Meatballs are popular worldwide! Almost every culture has a meatball variation of their own, from Sweden through the Middle East over to China. Meatballs are a versatile food and can be eaten as an appetizer, a side dish or as an entrée.
Meatballs are best made by soaking bread in milk, squeezing it out and chopping it. This gives the meatball its tender and moist texture. Beetnik meatballs are made with gluten-free breadcrumbs, allowing those with dietary restrictions to enjoy meatballs!
Did you know? The world’s largest meatball was made in South Carolina and it was a whopping 1,757 pounds!
Here is an easy 5 Ingredient Meatball Sub!
Ingredients:
10 Beetnik Meatballs, thawed
1 cup marinara sauce plus extra for dipping
½ cup grated provolone or mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
4 hoagie rolls split
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. While the oven heats, allow the thawed meatballs to sit on the counter and come to room temperature.
Place open hoagie rolls on a large rimmed baking sheet. Toast rolls in the 425-degree oven for 2-3 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, toss together meatballs and marinara sauce.
Place meatballs and sauce on the bottom half of each hoagie roll.
Top with shredded cheese and Parmesan.
Bake subs, uncovered, for approximately 3-5 minutes (or until meatballs are warm throughout, cheese is melted, and rolls are toasted).
