Say hello to my NEW FAVORITE kitchen appliance The Nugget Ice Maker by Gevi Household. It's our first weekend of summer break and it has already been put to good use. This countertop ice maker makes the perfect-shaped nugget ice that also has the perfect texture.  It has the right amount of crunch and is still soft, similar to Chick-Fil-A ice.

I have been wanting one of these nugget ice machines for a while and had seen a few different ones. The thing that stopped me from purchasing one, is the ice nuggets on other machines I saw were more of a bullet-shaped ice and they looked too hard. I wanted that soft yet crunchy ice.

This machine is sleek looking and comes in a few different styles. They have an all-white model (1000B-W), a stainless steel model (GIMN-1000C) with a window in front, and then this model GIMN-1000B which is a mix of black and stainless steel.

The machine is quiet, even when making ice, it is quieter than the ice maker in our freezer. It was so easy to set up. We let it sit for a bit after being delivered per the manufacturer's instructions, then we washed the bin and scoop, plugged in the machine, and added water.  Within fifteen to twenty minutes it was already making ice nuggets.

In my opinion, nugget ice has the ability to elevate any drink! Ice really does make a difference, it is why so many people go out of their way to go to specific fast food places, all because of the ice. It is kind of funny but I found myself after finishing my soft drink with my new ice at home, I don't even want to toss out the ice, it's that good. If you like to munch on ice, then this is a great appliance to add to your kitchen.

The Gevi Household Nugget Ice Maker can make up to 30 lbs. of ice in 24 hours. You can add water by simply pouring it on the door, no need to remove the ice basket. The ice basket slides out easily and can sit on the door while you scoop out ice. It has a power button and a self-cleaning button, so it is so easy to use. The easy-to-operate front panel has four light indicators that will come on, a snowflake while making ice, a cleaning indicator, an add water indicator, and an ice-full indicator.

While we have not yet had to drain the machine, it looks pretty easy, it has a hose on the back of the machine that is 13" long, and you simply drain it into your sink. The machine itself is 16.9" in height, 9.7" wide, and 17" in depth.

You can purchase your Gevi Household Nugget Ice Maker on their website here they offer free shipping on orders over $29.99. The model I have is $549.99. You can also find it on Amazon here on my Amazon Storefront (Affiliate Link).

If you would like to see a video of this ice machine check out our TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook. We sincerely appreciate every like, comment and follow.

The Sacramento County Fair is set to open its gates tomorrow, May 25th, and will be open through Monday, May 29th! This annual event promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family with exciting rides, delicious food, entertaining performances, and much more. Don’t miss your chance to experience all the fair has to offer!

I was invited for a media preview night and was able to stroll the grounds, seeing all the food stands going up and the Extreme Dog Show being set up. I loved seeing the horses practicing and touring inside the Kids Expo Building where you'll be able to enjoy the shade and see some really cool reptiles.  If you have a child who likes reptiles be sure to check out Brad's World Reptiles, he even has an alligator. The County Fair is on the smaller size which I think is great for families with younger children.

When you arrive park in Lot D the Horse Racing Gate and look for the big popcorn end caps, that is where you will enter.  Something NEW to keep in mind is they have a clear bag policy this year and only bags no larger than 12"x12"x12".

In addition to the thrilling events and attractions, there will also be a fantastic line-up of free musical performances. From FAN HALEN, known as “The World’s Most Authentic Tribute to Van Halen”, to hip-hop sensation BANDED FUTURE and fan-favorite THE FABULOUS YACHTSMEN, there’s something for everyone at the Sacramento County Fair.

The fair will also feature a wide variety of grandstand events for all ages to enjoy. From MONSTER TRUCK MAYHEM and the 4X4 TRUCK PULL, to perennial favorite STARS AND STRIPES INVITATIONAL BULL RIDING and the MAYHEM DESTRUCTION DERBY, there’s something for everyone at the Sacramento County Fair.
In addition to the exciting events and performances, Midway of Fun will have over 30 of its best and most enjoyable rides for the Sacramento County Fair. One of the new feature rides at this year’s Fair is the “Ali Baba,” which whisks riders 50 feet in the air while never turning them upside down.

If you want to enjoy all the thrilling rides at the fair this year, an Unlimited Ride Wristband is a must and can be purchased online at SacFair.com. A single wristband is good for one full day of rides at the Sacramento County Fair Carnival and does not include fair admission.
No fair experience would be complete without indulging in some delicious fair food. From classic favorites like corn dogs and funnel cakes to more adventurous options like giant burritos and bacon-wrapped turkey legs, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

The Sacramento County Fair also offers a variety of fun and educational activities for families to enjoy. The Sunflower Saddle Ranch provides children with a taste of rural farm life through interactive activities such as roping and milking a cow. The All-Alaskan Racing Pigs and All-American Duck Races are always crowd-pleasers with their adorable racing pigs and ducks competing in high-speed races. And for those looking for a jungle adventure, A Walk on the Wild Side exhibit brings exotic species of wild animals up close and personal. Don’t forget to check out North America’s Premier Stunt Dog Show, The Extreme Dogs. Free with Fair admission, guests will be able to watch all these wickedly talented canine athletes perform amazing feats multiple times daily.

And while you’re at the fair, be sure to visit the livestock exhibit and auction. The fair supports young men and women in 4H and FFA as they continue their agricultural education. Matt Cranford, CEO of Sacramento County Fair states “The Sacramento County Fair has a rich history in agricultural education and is a uniquely Sacramento tradition that inspires generations of area families.”

Doors to the Sacramento County Fair are open from 10 am daily. Tickets are available for purchase online at SacFair.com or at the gate. Adult tickets are only $12.00, kids 12-17 are only $10 and children under-12 are FREE every day of the fair.

Could being "extra" about your breast health be a good thing?

"You are so extra!" If you have children or grandchildren or spend a lot of time around kids, you might have heard this phrase before. For those wondering what it means, you are not alone. According to Sassy Mama "extra" means "when someone is being over the top and overly dramatic, or they are just simply overdressed for the occasion." Despite its definition, there just might be times when being extra is a good thing! Like with your breast health!

While many women know the importance of performing monthly breast self-exams, not everyone is doing this extra step regularly. And since breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States (except for skin cancers), according to the American Cancer Society, maybe we need to do more? You know, be a little "extra"?

BreastCancer.org believes breast self-examination is an important component to screening, especially when combined with regular physical exams by a doctor, mammography, and an ultrasound, MRI, or both.

"Most women's breasts have lumps and bumps in them, and it is important for a woman to do breast self-exams, so that she knows where her normal lumps and bumps are. So that if there is ever a new lump, she will be the first one to find it and seek a doctor's attention," said Benjamin Goldman, M.D., at North Shore University Hospital.

It is important you become familiar with your body and establish a baseline, so you know what is your normal. When performing a breast self-exam, sometimes your hands are not enough, which is why women are using Aware® Pad, to help increase their sense of touch, for some extra sensitivity.

The Aware® Pad works by reducing friction between fingers and breast and may provide for an easier and more comfortable exam. In addition to the increased ("extra") sensitivity Aware® offers, "just having the Aware® Pad around the patients bedroom or bathroom is helpful because it reminds them that they are supposed to do the breast self-exam once a month," said Dr. Josephine McNamara Von Herzen-so Aware® can serve as an extra reminder. With experts recommending that women should start breast self-exams by age 20, you might want to encourage your daughters and granddaughters to be a little "extra" with Aware® Pads and embrace the slang yourself!

If you want to be a "extra" about your health, you can purchase Aware® Pads for you and your loved ones at Walmart, click here.

The Aware® Pad is an aid for performing breast self-examination. A revolutionary way for you to feel changes in breast tissue-it makes your breast self-exam easier. The Aware® Pad is reusable and FDA cleared!
