Do you have or know children that love animals? An adventure is sure to be had by any and all who visit SeaQuest in Folsom, CA. Located in the Palladio at Broadstone shopping area, our family had the pleasure of visiting recently and we built memories sure to last a lifetime.  SeaQuest is a unique interactive learning experience about all types of animals, sea creatures, bird, fish and so much more.  Don't make the same mistake I did by thinking that we will only see a few fish and an aquatic creature of two, our entire crew was very surprised.  We were all really impressed by how much discovery and learning is involved with so many hands-on experiences.  Ranging in age from 11 to 4 my boys were having so much fun they didn't realize they were also learning about during our tour. You really become immersed so much more than most Zoo's or aquariums because of the ability to touch, pet, feed and interact with the exhibits.
I am excited to be partnering with SeaQuest and giving away a family pack of 4 daily passes and 10 tokens (valued at $70).  You can enter to win on my Instagram and Facebook pages I will place the links at the end of this post.
At SeaQuest  you will see, touch and fed all sorts of fish, birds, rabbits, goats, pigs and of course as the name SeaQuest indicates a variety of other sea creatures.  My favorite part of our adventure was the Sting Rays. They will eat pieces of fish right from your hand!  Another must stop is the Lorikeet Landing area, where you can actually enter and feed the Rainbow Lorikeet.
Conveniently located, SeaQuest immerses you in a complete world of adventure. With exhibits packed to the gills with flashy fish, brightly-colored birds, riveting reptiles and more, it’s a splash of adventure for families and kids of all ages.
There are themed rooms that you walk in such as the Amazon Rainforest room, The Fantasy Caves of New Zealand, The Egyptian Desert Room, Carribean Cove and more.   Throughout the rooms, you will find signs with cool facts such as "Creature Feature" and "Where in the World?" information.  Some signs and TV's feature slides with "Did You Know?" facts and information about the exhibit.

We attended during Spring Break on a weekday there was quite a line when we arrived.  Thankfully we had a tour scheduled, so our SeaQuest Tour guide came out and called our name, so we did not have to stand in line long.  If you are able to go during a weekday I highly recommend it as they are busier on the weekends.  I also highly recommend scheduling a tour.  Our tour guide was so informative, friendly and helpful.  She was great with all the questions my little guy had.
We stayed for about two hours, we were able to feed a few different types of fish, rabbits, and Sting Rays.  Feeding the Sting Rays was my favorite, if you ask my three-year-old he says feeding the rabbits were his favorite.  They rabbits hopped right over to him and ate the food right from his hand.  You can purchase tokens to purchase food to feed the animals.  If you take a tour, some tokens will be provided for you.

There is a giant Sea Shell bench near the Sting Ray exhibit as well as a concession area, where snacks and drinks are sold.  You can take a picture with a Mermaid on the Sea Shell bench.  Only one of my boys would let me take their picture with the Mermaid.

Our family loves attending the BerryFest, we have made it an annual tradition.  This year will be the 11th annual BerryFest in the newly renovated Fairgrounds in Roseville.  My boys' favorite things last year other than the delicious strawberries, of course, were the Slot Car Racing, the Scout-O-Rama, and looking at all the cool cars from the Nor-Cal Cruisers.

Save the date for Saturday, May 11, 2019, 10:00 AM-6PM  and Sunday, May 12, 2019, 10 AM-6:00 PM located At The Grounds, 800 All-America City Blvd., Roseville, CA 95678.

Stay tuned on my Instagram @BlogAboutItAll I'll be giving away a family four pack of tickets to this years BerryFest!
Not only is the BerryFest Strawberry Festival bringing in a wildly-popular attraction this year, they are using the skills of a local university to tell the story!

Mothers throughout the region will be celebrated over Mother’s Day weekend at the newly-refurbished Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville, CA, called, @The Grounds. The annual weekend event is the “BerryFest Strawberry Festival” and this year’s attractions might make it the region’s most interesting family experience of the year.

Not only does BerryFest offer the tastiest berries and berry-featured menu items that the region has to offer, but the event has free family attractions to keep all family members entertained all day long. The Halfpipe Jam is new to the event this year and it features X-Games champions on BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters, and skates wowing the crowds. Other attractions include live bands on stage, a petting zoo, full kids’ carnival, nonstop shows on the Kids Caboose Stage, princess pageant, fun zone, face painting, beer and wine garden, strawberry shortcake eating contest, Amazing Animal World, and much more.

Event Promoter asks William Jessup University to do the major marketing for BerryFest
The event manager, John Javidan, said, “We want this year’s BerryFest to appeal to every member of the family. We will ensure that the moms are showered with recognition, the kids have plenty of entertaining activities, and all dads and teens will feel exhilarated with the action sports. We’ve fixed the parking challenges and we’re expecting a huge crop of berries for this year’s event.

When asked why Javidan approached WJU to handle their marketing, he responded, “It is difficult to organize a huge operation like BerryFest while also handling the marketing demand. I watched how Professor Alvord’s fall class rocked the marketing for Sacramento Ballet’s The Nutcracker and asked if his spring class would use their unique Target Avatar concept to do the same for BerryFest.
Jessup Marketing Class 2019 BerryFest
Professor Alvord is better known as Roseville City Councilmember Scott Alvord. He has an MBA degree and is the CEO of Advanced Development Concepts, LLC which handles a variety of business consulting projects around the region. He considers teaching at WJU a part of his ministry.

When asked how he can get students to pull off a real-world marketing project for an event that drew in over twenty-five thousand visitors last year, Alvord replied, “Although the in-class workload is very challenging, the students are already equipped to think critically. They are reading and doing class assignments while also working as a real-life marketing team. They are very excited and I have full confidence that they are going to knock it out of the park.”

It was exciting to learn that we were able to bring another major marketing campaign into the classroom” said Dr. Stephen Strombeck, dean of the Business School at WJU. “This is a hands-on project with a legitimate marketing budget and we’re thrilled our students get to have this real-world experience.

Alvord teaches his students a concept called, “Target Avatar Marketing,” that his company uses with its clients. The class did a lot of research and created three very detailed psychological profiles of personas their marketing team will target during various marketing campaigns. These avatars are “The Suburban Mom,” “Energetic and Exciting Dad,” and, “Cool Teen.”

Nick Tucker, a Junior at WJU, explains, “We chose these specific avatars because we felt they are the key draws to the 2019 BerryFest. The event is a place for moms to spend time with their families and feel special on Mother’s Day. Dads will be drawn to the event because they want to make memories with their children and ensure their wives have a great experience. Teens will be enticed to attend by the addition of BMX and skateboarding shows that will also draw their friends.

We divided into teams, dressed up, and formally interviewed our client and a graphic artist. The opportunity to work with a real budget gives us a real-life experience that we wouldn’t get out of a book,” explained Amanda Potts, a business major with a marketing concentration.

Dr. John Jackson, president of WJU, states, “William Jessup University is thrilled to help the BerryFest showcase how our school prepares students for the real world.

BerryFest Strawberry Festival will be open Saturday and Sunday, May, 11 & 12 from 10am to 6pm at @The Grounds in Roseville, CA (800 All America City Blvd.)
