Have you been the Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento?  In January 2019, the Kings were recognized with First 5 Sacramento’s High 5 Award for Innovation Family-Friendly Large Business.

September 30th, 2016 was the official opening date and the catalyst for one of the biggest transformations the Sacramento area has seen in recent years. The Sacramento Kings of the NBA were the main driving force behind this arena, however, it is used for so much more than basketball. The Kings and their ownership group made the project possible and have helped pave the way for both renovation, and revitalization to downtown Sacramento.
Friday, March 1st my husband and I were invited to tour the facility and see many places inside the arena you might not know about. We also were shown a few places not open to the general public that highlighted how technologically advanced, environmentally friendly and architecturally stunning the arena is.  WOW! We have been to the arena for a variety of events, family-friendly events, concerts, and Sacramento Kings games. I was already impressed with the Golden 1 Center the tour only increased that.

With just a few pictures you can see how visually beautifully the facility is, but I'd like to show you a couple of the "extras" Golden 1 Center and the staff offer to those coming to an event.  I love all they took into account from using locally grown food to sensory rooms.
Did you know the WIFI can power 17,000 homes?

Golden 1 Center, the world’s most technologically advanced and sustainable arena, provides various amenities for women and their families including spaces for mothers to nurse their children, family restrooms are on every level of the arena and they have an all-inclusive, dual-mode app for a seamless fan experience.

I so appreciate how much thought went into families at the arena.  Did you know they have a Sensory Room? Sensory Room and Sensory kits are available at all Golden 1 Center events. The respective space is for individuals and family members who need to regroup after becoming overstimulated.
There are private Nursing Pods.  They are the first NBA team to offer a suite for nursing mothers – Mamava Breastfeeding Pod.  I wish there were amenities like these when I was nursing my babies and I wish more places would adopt these. Nursing areas and changing tables are on every level of the arena and strollers are available for checkout at Guest Services.

Golden 1 Center follows our sourcing and sustainability charter including gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options to meet most dietary needs. In addition, Golden 1 Center recently announced a Meatless Monday Campaign.  We have enjoyed a variety of delicious food at the Golden 1 Center.  As a mom with four boys, our all-time favorite quick food is the chicken strips, they give you a generous portion of chicken and fries.  We also appreciate the bottomless soda refill cup for ONLY $10, it is such a great deal.  You receive a bracelet that enables you to return and refill your cup as many times as you want.

Kings + Golden 1 Center app allows fans to order food from their seat for delivery, see which concessions have the shortest lines and view menu options. Additionally, fans can locate step by step directions to their desired destinations within the arena, find the closest bathroom and view wait times.

While you are visiting the arena be sure to check out the Jersey Wall and Shoe Wall. You can read all about it here http://bit.ly/2X63MtM.

We were also able to tour the Data Center and Mission Control area.  I am grateful I had my husband along for this part of the tour.  This is his wheelhouse and he thoroughly enjoyed a behind the scenes look.  If you or someone you know loves AV and Production here is another article that has a video of Brian Plumb the Vice President of AV and Production, who we were fortunate to meet on our tour. I found this article very informative, I enjoy learning about all of this especially with my husbands' career.
Golden 1 Center opened the world's first full-service music recording studio in a professional sports arena!  You can read more about that here http://bit.ly/2GlybPj.
The Sacramento Kings unveiled the world's first dedicated Esports Training Facility and Content Studio.  You can read more about that here https://on.nba.com/2X63wLk.
I cannot forget to mention the lovable mascot Slamson.  We have run into him all around town at the CA State Fair, at the Ice Rink, we love the energy and fun Slamson brings to the games.
This photo and the Kings logos were provided by the Sacramento Kings.
We were able to take the tour the same day as a Kings game and the game did not disappoint.  The fans are fun, loud, and we had a fantastic time.  The team similar to the surrounding area has gone through changes and is poised for great things in the years to come. I'd encourage anyone to follow the events calendar for the Golden 1 Center because there is so much more than basketball going on at 500 David Stern Walk. Come out and visit the area to appreciate the arena, the restaurants, and the energy of Downtown Sacramento and the Golden 1 Center.  Start planning now to attend the 2019-2020 Kings season as well as any other upcoming events.  We have enjoyed concerts, Disney on Ice, Monster Jam and so much more at the Golden 1 Center

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Golden 1 Center. We were gifted tickets to a Kings game and invited to a behind the scenes tour.  Although we received these benefits all opinions are my own.
