I will be on Good Day Sacramento this morning sharing how to make this DIY Snack Stadium for your Super Bowl Party.  I hope you can tune in channel 31 during the 9 AM hour and watch.

DIY Snack Stadium
What you need:
6 empty 12 pack boxes
Sharpie
Ruler
Aluminum Disposable for Center
2 Smaller loaf size if it will fit in the aluminum container you choose or you could buy 2 of the same size and cut to use for the end zone dips.

Directions:
Cut the empty 12 pack box in half at the perforated handle spot. Remove the soda cans from the boxes.
In the front of the box, handle spot area, measure 3” from the bottom and draw a line across the front, cut.  Then make a diagonal line from your front cut up the side and cut along that line. You can use a coffee filter or wax paper in the boxes before you fill with snacks.

4 End Zone Containers to Fill
Team Color Rice Krispie Treats Or Candy

8 Sideline Containers to Fill
Sideline Snack Ideas:
Tortilla Chips
Doritos
Lays
Cheetos
Popcorn
Pretzels
ChexMix
Crackers
Veggies (Carrots, Celery, Bell Peppers, Brocolli)
Mozzarella Sticks
Jalapeno Poppers

Center Field
Fill the aluminum disposable container with guacamole or dips of your choice.  I like using guacamole because it resembles the green field.  You can use the squeeze sour cream to draw the lines.

End Zone Center Mini Sides
I cut an aluminum container to size to help separate the dips so they wouldn't mix.  I filled mine with Salsa and Marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks
You could even do spinach dip or nacho cheese sauce, whatever will go with your fixings.

Goal Posts (optional)
I made out of corn tortillas, cut a field goal shape out of a corn tortilla and fried in oil.

Filler along the edges:
Deli Sandwiches, tortilla roll-ups, drinks, or football decorated cupcakes.

In honor of this year's teams playing I am making New England Clam Chowder and Philly Cheesesteak Sliders.

Here is the link to the recipe I used for the team-colored Rice Krispie Bites by Two-Sisters Crafting.

With 26 museums and local destinations participating during this celebratory year, the 20th Annual Sacramento Museum Day is proudly presented by Sutter Health and takes place on Saturday, February 3, 2018. To the delight of the greater Sacramento area community, the participating local museums will open their doors to offer free or half-priced admission to the community from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most of the museums will offer free admission whereas two destinations located in residential areas – the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town – will offer half-priced admission to offset parking and traffic control costs.
Coordinated by the Sacramento Area Museums (SAM) and Visit Sacramento, the annual event is a popular cultural tradition designed to encourage all members of the community to experience the Capital City’s incredible wealth of art, history, science and wildlife – at little or no cost. Many of the museums are within walking distance of each other and easily accessible via public transportation. Event coordinators suggest that guests plan to visit no more than two or three different museums on this day in order to allow adequate time to enjoy the experience and to travel between individual sites.
In addition to offering free or reduced cost admission, many of the destinations are offering special activities during Sacramento Museum Day. The activities range from special staffing by docents (for some smaller museums not normally open on Saturdays) to the following:
–The California Automobile Museum will feature a special Story Time with a celebrity reader at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.  Also, some of the eye-catching class cars will be on display outside the Museum (weather permitting);
– The California State Library will be featuring water transportation in California and a special Haiku and Japanese Art exhibit. The State Library has the largest haiku collection outside of Japan. Plus, kids can visit with the Library’s very own robo-dog, Browser;
– Maidu Museum & Historic Site will offer trail tours, children’s activities, tables for grinding acorns and beaded bracelets or necklaces;
– Museum of Medical History will be staffed by retired physicians to answer questions and enhance the visitor experience on Sacramento Museum Day;
– Powerhouse Science Center Discovery Campus guests will have the opportunity to experiment with some of the hands-on engineering design activities offered in Design Lab and see live critters and insects up-close in the Nature Discovery Area. Additionally “Scooter” the Air Quality Management District’s mascot is plans to make a special guest appearance;
– The Sacramento Historic City Cemetery will offer tours that day and, if Museum Day guests make a donation to the Cemetery, they will have the unique opportunity to ring the big fire bell;
– The Sacramento History Museum will offer their interactive and fun gold panning activities for kids outside in front of the Museum;
– The Roseville Utility Exploration Center will present a special “Bird and Bug Bonanza” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free family-friendly event will feature interactive activities such as a creek crawl in Cruddy Creek, joining the bug squad, story time with the library, exploring the local habitat and building a birdhouse (birdhouse requires $10 materials fee);
– The Sacramento Zoo will have craft stations hosted by Zoo teens and docents available throughout the day to answer animal questions and share biofacts. Also, guests are encouraged to stop by the Reptile House Lawn at 11 a.m. to meet some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors during an Animal Encounter.
“We are thrilled to present the 20th Annual Sacramento Museum Day and invite the community to join us during this celebratory year,” said Sacramento Area Museums Chair Lynda Walls. “And we’d especially like to thank our continuing sponsor – Sutter Health – for helping us to present this important event each year so we can introduce the community to the amazing array of arts, culture and museum offerings available in the greater Sacramento region.”
While admission is free at most of the participating museums during Sacramento Museum Day, admission to two destinations located in residential areas are half-priced as follows: Sacramento Zoo is $7.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 2-11 and free for children under two; Fairytale Town is $2.88 per person and free for children ages one and under.
Due to the popularity of Sacramento Museum Day, some locations must limit the number of admissions for safety reasons. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. but note the last guests will be admitted at 4 p.m. More detailed information about participating museums, addresses, limitations, suggested parking and public transit options is available at www.sacmuseums.org, or by calling Visit California at (916) 808-7777.
In addition to Sutter Health, the 2018 Sacramento Museum Day is proudly supported by active and engaged media partners including FOX40 & Studio40 Live, KSEG 96.9 FM & 106.5FM The End, Outword Media and Sacramento365.com.

Last night my family had a blast at Monster Jam in Sacramento at the Golden 1 Center! This was my first time attending and my boys second time. This is an action-packed show, with high-flying, four wheeling entertainment, the entire family will enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised by all the variety.  They had the drivers switch between their Monster Trucks, ATV's and Speedsters.

You can find more photos and videos from last night’s Monster Jam Sacramento event on my Social Media Accounts:
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/blogaboutitall/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theblogaboutitall/
Twitter: https://twitter.com/blogaboutitall
During the show you get to vote for your favorite truck winner with in-arena fan voting using your smartphone in the different categories, donut, wheelie and freestyle.  Results are shown on the big screen and the crowd cheers on their favorite.

There is an intermission time which I appreciated, I was able to re-charge my phone at one of the charging stations.  Taking lots of videos and pictures ate up my battery really quick, I was really grateful for the charging stations.

It is loud, my boys actually wore earplugs the first time they went, but they did not wear earplugs this time around and they thought it was fine.  If you have a little one age 4 and under I would recommend ear muffs.

My boys favorite Monster Truck was Grave Digger driven by Krysten Anderson, my favorite was Earth Shaker driven by Tristan England.  Alien Invasion was pretty cool, with lights on his truck.  I was amazed by all the detail that goes into creating Zombie.  They also had El Torro, Pirates Curse, Monster Mutt and Megalodon.

Here are some of the concession prices:
Lighted Reaper Snow Cone Cup for $20
Monster Jam Tire Cup with Snow Cone $15
Monster Truck Hat with Cotton Candy $15
Popcorn with Tote $10
Lemonade Sports Bottle $10

After the show they have an autograph time with the drivers, you can purchase a Monster Jam Yearbook or have them autograph other memorabilia.

If it is your first time visiting the Golden One Center, I recommend you give yourself plenty of time to arrive and locate parking, especially allocate time for traffic flow.  There are quite a few parking garages to choose from or street parking if available.

You can reserve parking ahead of time with SacPark.org or ParkingPanda.com.  It is super easy, I reserved parking right on my phone, paid $7.50 and it gave me a QR code to show the parking attendant.  I chose the Sac County Public Garage at 725 7th Street, the entrance was on G Street, between 7th at 8th Street, it was a quick walk.  Even at night, it was well lit, and there are crowds of people parking and walking with you to and from the Golden One Center.

The Sacramento Monster Jam event is this weekend Jan 19-21. Tickets & Pit Passes are available for purchase online at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster retail outlets, charge by phone at 800-745-3000 or at the Golden 1 Center.

Monster Jam Sacramento 2018 Review

Last night my family had a blast at Monster Jam in Sacramento at the Golden 1 Center! This was my first time attending and my boys second time. This is an action-packed show, with high-flying, four wheeling entertainment, the entire family will enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised by all the variety.  They had the drivers switch between their Monster Trucks, ATV's and Speedsters.

You can find more photos and videos from last night’s Monster Jam Sacramento event on my Social Media Accounts:

During the show you get to vote for your favorite truck winner with in-arena fan voting using your smartphone in the different categories, donut, wheelie and freestyle.  Results are shown on the big screen and the crowd cheers on their favorite.

There is an intermission time which I appreciated, I was able to re-charge my phone at one of the charging stations.  Taking lots of videos and pictures ate up my battery really quick, I was really grateful for the charging stations.

Are you getting ready for the big game?  Here is a DIY Snack Stadium idea that I have used before and love the way it turned out.
I am not a big football fan, I am really not a sports fan of any kind.  Growing up my dad was a HUGE football fan, a Raider fan to be exact.  We went to games, practice games and autograph signings, we drove hours to these events, it just did not appeal to me in any way.

Fast forward to now I am married and my husband is a sports fan, not a huge football fan, he is more a fan of baseball and hockey, but still, I just don’t get it.  I also have four boys, who love sports also just like my dad and just like their dad.  So I’ve embraced sports will be a part of my life, and I try to make game-day fun for the whole family.  I could go read a book or take a nap and I have sometimes, but I would rather be with them the people I love so I cook, I bake, I make football-shaped cookies and I ask who is winning periodically.

I’m sure you’ve seen people post pictures of their Snack Stadium’s on-line with Pinterest and Social Media, they look really cool and festive.  You can even buy a pre-made Snack Stadium setup at Party City.  I saw this idea on Pinterest to make your own Snack Stadium out of soda boxes and I thought I would try that.  I loved the way it turned out and I love that I was already purchasing soda anyways, why not use the boxes to create this Snack Stadium.

Here is the link from Upstate Ramblings where I got the idea for the DIY Snack Stadium, she has step by step instructions with great pictures to show you how.

Food brings people together when I look back at my childhood memories if we had family or friends over you can guarantee food was a big part of our gathering.  That is one thing I look forward to when it comes to football season or any sports season, is having people over and sharing fun food together.  It was really fun seeing the excitement on my boys' faces when they saw my Snack Stadium, they thought it was the coolest thing.

I also over the years have made a football shaped cake, football-shaped brownies and a football-shaped bread bowl with spinach artichoke dip, I’ll share pics of those here too.

You can keep a game day gathering simple with pizza, chips, and brownies it’s still fun.  I think it is more enjoyable to watch the game with others and have someone to talk to about the commercials or plays.  You could also go big and make a snack stadium, the main thing is to spend time together and make it fun.

Another simple tip is to use the colors of whichever team is playing and use that color food and decorations, it does not have to be name specific.  You will always see Rice Krispie treats at my parties, I love them, my kids love them and they are easy to turn into any color based on the teams playing.

You could also use the city of the team for inspiration.  Last year the New England Patriots were playing the Atlanta Falcons at the Super Bowl, so I made Clam Chowder and I made a simple peach dump cake in honor of Atlanta, Georgia peaches.

You can usually find inexpensive football decorations at the Dollar Store or even Wal-mart.  I found football-shaped glass cups at the Dollar Store, last year.
Here is the menu I had at last years Super Bowl:
In honor of last years Superbowl teams (New England Patriots & Atlanta Falcons) I made New England Clam Chowder and Peach Dump Cake.

Appetizers:
Nachos, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Guacamole, Chips & Salsa

(I made a field goal out of corn tortillas to place in guac and salsa.)
Finger Foods:
Mozzarella Sticks and Jalapeno Poppers

Main Course:

Clam Chowder & Deli Sandwiches
Dessert:
The Peach Dump Cake, Football themed Rice Krispie Treats and football cupcakes.

Again want to keep it simple, pizza and wings are always a hit with my crew too.
More simple food ideas would be: Meatballs or Pulled Pork in the Crockpot with bread rolls, Taco Bar, Nachos, Hot Dogs, and Chili, or BBQ Shredded Chicken Sliders.

I sure am looking forward to finding out who will be playing in the Super Bowl so I can start menu planning. We have had a few simple football gatherings this year. My family is originally from Denver, so when the Denver Broncos and the Raiders recently played we had a get-together and I made my Crock Pot Potato Soup and we had another get together and kept it simple with Pizza and salad.

If you are planning a football party I hope you will try making this Snack Stadium, I think you will love how it turns out, I know your guests sure will.
