Six Flags Discovery Kingdom sure knows how to celebrate with food! They really do shine when it comes to theme park food, don't think your typical basic theme park food. Something new for this event, they put all the limited-time food item stands in the same area. This makes it so easy to find all the NEW items! When you enter the park and also throughout you will see a sign as your Festival Food Guide, scan that QR Code.

Taste of Viva La Fiesta!

Get ready to indulge in some of the most delicious and exciting fiesta-inspired foods at Viva La Fiesta! But don’t wait too long! Make sure to plan your foodie adventure accordingly. Have some fun and fill your stomach with some mouthwatering bites at Viva La Fiesta!

Here are the stands to look for and what each one has. 

Fiesta Margarita – Margarita Flights (Regular, Strawberry, Pineapple, and Cotton Candy flavored)

Casa De Sabor – Shredded beef with lime rice, Tostada de tinga, Pink paloma, and Tizana


Empanada Street – Empanadas, Sweet plantains, and Cholado


Guacho Grill -Asado tri-tip skewers, Choripan, and Elote


Dulce Delights– Dulce de le churro, Ice Cream (Strawberry, Pineapple and Mango) 

Everything was delicious but some of our top favorites were the Choripán which is grilled chorizo on crusty bread, Tostada, and the Shredded Beef and Lime Rice, we also LOVED the Cholada which is a cup of fruit, shaved ice, and sweetened condensed milk. 

Not only will you be treated to some fantastic food, but you’ll also get to enjoy live entertainment. We loved watching the traditional Mexican dancers. There’s something for everyone at Viva La Fiesta, so what are you waiting for?

Entertainment

Lotería! – Let’s play a game of Lotería! Lotería is a traditional Mexican game similar to bingo that uses images on a deck of cards. Be the first player to mark off all of the pictures on their board wins the game! 

Mariachi – Watch live mariachi perform!  Enjoy the upbeat tempos, lively rhythms, and the traditional instruments all come together. 

Folklorico Dancers – Folklorico dancers are traditional Mexican dancers that will perform traditional dances and bring music to life! The bright colors and lively music will come together to create a performance that’s both beautiful and exciting to watch. 

Maraca Decorating – Maraca decorating is a fun activity where you get to decorate your own maracas with paint, stickers, and other crafts. This is your chance to be creative and make something unique!

Cookie Decorating – Cookie decorating is a fun way to get creative and make something that is both delicious and beautiful. Decorate your cookie with sprinkles, frosting, and other sweet toppings. 

While at the park be sure to check out the NEW Cheetah Creek, they have welcomed new cheetah cubs. During our visit we watched the animal ambassadors working with six-month-old cheetah cub Kalahari, he is so cute!

We saw they are updating the in-door butterfly exhibit and the shark exhibit. We also spotted quite a few newly painted murals throughout the park. I love that they are always adding new things and have really great themed seasons throughout the year.  Another great reason to purchase a season pass, it is totally worth it especially if you are looking for fun things to do over the summer break with your kids. Enjoy it now and for an entire year!
