I was invited to attend a media preview night of Mama Mia a Broadway production at Music Circus this past week, I had an amazing time.  I was hoping to get this blog post out sooner because each production runs for only one week. While you can’t catch Mama Mia there is still one more production you can catch before this 2017-2018 season comes to an end. For tickets and more information on Broadway at Music Circus or Broadway on Tour shows visit www.BroadwaySacramento.com.
They have announced the Broadway on Tour’s 2018-2019 Season and it is a great line-up.  I am most excited about Stomp because my husband and I actually saw Stomp in New York City.  As a Disney fan I would love to see Aladdin, and Waitress, I should just buy season tickets they all sound good.

We were greeted before the show by Julie Gallaher from Get on the Map, she created the #instayelpatweetasnap community if you are a local Influencer I encourage you to check out her site, sign up and get invited to fun events like these.  Here is the link: https://getonthemap.us/instayelpatweetasnap.
One of my favorite things about attending blogging/social media events like these is getting to connect with other influencers from our community. I also love seeing people I’ve met from previous events, I am grateful for these lovely ladies who are supportive and encouraging. Check out their sites Ashley at AshleyNewell.me,  Justine at LittleDoveBlog, Maricela at Macaroni Kid (Folsom-El Dorado Hills), Jennifer at InspiredImperfection and someone I’ve only followed on social media I finally met at this event Heather at DoYouKnowHeatherFrick.

The last time I attended Music Circus they were in the tent, it’s been way too long. We were not able to take pictures or video during the performance you can see some beautiful pictures of the production on the Broadway Sacramento Facebook Page. Did you know they have a $35 under 35 club?  Although I don’t make the cut, this is a great deal for those of you who are 18-35, you can purchase up to two tickets at $35 each. It is free to join the club you must join in order to have access to the $35 tickets when they become available.  To join sign up here: https://www.broadwaysacramento.com/35-under-35-club/sign-up/.

When I first found my seat I was thinking the round stage looked really small.  I was definitely intrigued by how they were going to make it work with props and dances with high kicks that I had heard about.  Well, I was pleasantly surprised!!! The stage is perfect! Props come down from the ceiling, props come up the aisles, it is quite a production.  I love the round stage, and the cast plays so well with it so that no matter where you are sitting in the theatre you feel close and capture their facial expressions so well.
The cast of Mama Mia was AMAZING!!! A little synopsis...on the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to an island paradise. Featuring over 20 ABBA songs, including the hits “Dancing Queen” and “Take a Chance on Me,” this high-spirited, feel-good international sensation will have you singing and dancing in the aisles.  The singing, dancing, and acting were fabulous. Many of the characters had me laughing. I loved too many scenes to name a favorite. If Mama Mia is at a theatre near you, go see it, you will love it!

Broadway At Music Circus is a truly unique musical theatre experience, renowned by theatre professionals and fans across the country. Each summer the Broadway At Music Circus series features new productions of classic musicals with some of the most talented professional actors available, Tony-winning Broadway veterans and stars of touring Broadway, film, and TV. The theatre-in-the-round setting puts audiences so close to the action that they feel like part of the show. It’s been a summer tradition in Sacramento for generations.

I love musicals, plays and supporting the arts.  I think Music Circus is one of Sacramento’s best-kept secrets.  What a gem we have right here in our city that you don’t have to fly all the way to New York City to watch a Broadway performance.  If you have not attended or it’s been a while like myself, I highly recommend checking out Broadway at Music Circus or the Broadway on Tour shows.

My in-laws are season ticket holders and they love it, I definitely will be getting tickets for the next season.  My husband and I love to find things to change up, date night. Broadway at Music Circus is a great way to do that! You can also use your ticket and receive 10% off at participating restaurants, dinner and a Broadway experience in Downtown Sacramento sounds like a great date night!

I would love to hear from you have you attended Broadway at Music Circus?  Which show? Do you plan on attending next year the Broadway on Tour Shows?  Which one are you most looking forward to attending?
