Sacramento, prepare yourself for the most immersive art experience! Visit Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience now through November 27, 2022. This unique immersive art experience is held Downtown at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, 1401 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.



Through the use of cutting-edge projection technology and an original score, Beyond Van Gogh breathes new life into over 300 of Van Gogh’s artworks. The show is projected on every surface around you including the floor, this makes you feel as though you have stepped directly into a Van Gogh painting. There are a variety of scene changes, there are audio portions that go with portions of the art, and beautiful calming music throughout the entire experience. There were some benches to sit and enjoy, and you could also walk throughout, we did a little bit of both. It is nice to move around the larger room and admire the art from different angles. 



My husband and I went on a Friday evening for Date Night and had the most wonderful time together. After the exhibit, we walked to a nearby restaurant. There are so many great restaurants in the Downtown area, some of our favorites are Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant, Chando's Tacos, Osaka Sushi, and Cafeteria 15 L, there are too many to name them all. While we made this a date night, we did see other families with children of all ages, from younger aged to teenagers and they all seemed to enjoy the experience. Children 4 years old and younger are free.


Occupying over 30,000 square feet, Beyond Van Gogh is the largest immersive experience in the country. Comprised of over 4 trillion content pixels, this high-resolution portrayal of Van Gogh’s work gives guests the opportunity to become one with his paintings.

The visit will take around one hour, and it truly is a unique and amazing way to experience art. It was the perfect way to end a busy week. It was the exact thing I needed to relax and head into the weekend. The music played was so calming, I was happy to find the Spotify Playlist, you can add it to your playlist here.

When you finish walking through the exhibit there is a Gift Shop as you exit. They had a variety of Van Gogh products, mugs, t-shirts, art pieces, and more.

We reserved a parking spot ahead of time on SpotHero, but I saw quite a few public parking lots nearby.


I had seen Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience advertised for San Francisco and other larger cities, so I was thrilled it came to Sacramento. I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience while it is here in Sacramento.
