Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!  This is one of my favorite weeks, I love baking, cooking and I am looking forward to the time spent around the table with family and friends.

One of our Annual Thanksgiving traditions is we attend Praise and Pancakes at our church.  We start our morning in church at 7 AM, we come in our PJ's, no one is fancy, and everyone is welcome.  We sing a few worship songs to God and after worship some get up and share what they are thankful for.  We then have pancakes all together.  It is one of my most favorite Thanksgiving traditions.
One of the things I am grateful for is YOU! Thank you for supporting my blog in any way that you do.  I appreciate each and every one of you who stop to read a post.  Thank you to all of you who follow over on social media and like, comment and share.  I am extremely grateful for the connections and friendships I've made through blogging.  It always blesses me when people e-mail or message me I love connecting with you all.  I've bonded over motherhood with some, swapped Keto hacks and recipes with others, and I am forever grateful for the many of you who send encouraging notes, you guys are the best cheerleaders.
After Praise and Pancakes once we are home we put on the Macy's Day Parade while we cook, prep and of course snack all morning long.  My husband being from Michigan you can count on the Lions Game being on as well. We typically have our Thanksgiving meal early around 1 o'clock, we kind of graze so it's lunch and dinner.

Over the years we have eaten low carb and Keto style off and on.  This year since January is the first time we have been the most consistent and this will be the first Thanksgiving we decided to stick with our Keto eating plan.  No cheat day for us.  I love how I feel healthier and I am grateful for all the different options that are available with "mock" recipes and so many Keto ideas available on the internet.  You definitely want to try my Keto Stuffing Recipe you can find that here
The typical Thanksgiving meal is actually very Keto-friendly.  Turkey, Ham, Veggies, and Salad, the only things that are not Keto-friendly are the potatoes, stuffing and sweets.  I'm so excited about all the Keto things we are eating this year.  I thought I'd share my menu in case any of you are trying to stick to healthier options.  I tried all of these recipes before Thanksgiving week, the only one that I added in last minute is the "mock sweet potato casserole".  Sweet Potato Casserole is one of my most favorite Thanksgiving side dishes.  I have used Trisha Yearwood's recipe for years, but I am sure you know the typical recipe is full of sugar.

For this years sweet potato casserole I kind of improvised between these two recipe links below. I am really impressed on how well this turned out.  I already have prepped the casserole part and it's in the refrigerator, I just have to add the pecan topping and bake on Thanksgiving day.  Typical sweet potato casserole uses Yam's which are very high in carbs, so I swapped Yam's out for a combination of Butternut Squash, Cauliflower and a Cup of Pumpkin puree.
Wholesome Yum's Recipe here.
Life Made Sweeter Recipe here.
I roasted the 1 Butternut Squash (peeled and cubed) and 1 medium head of Cauliflower in the oven tossed with olive oil for about 30 minutes.  Once cooled I put them in our Ninja Blender to smooth.  I put the pureed veggies in my mixer and added in 1 cup of can pumpkin puree, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of Truvia Brown Sugar, a Tsp. of Vanilla, sprinkled in some cinnamon a splash of heavy whipping cream.

I'm going to keep my pecan topping pretty basic, with chopped pecans, almond flour, brown sugar Truvia, cinnamon and salt.  Once on top of the casserole I will put some dollops of butter and bake.  I don't have a picture yet with the pecan topping, I'll have to update this post after Thanksgiving.

General Mills Box Tops for Education Program went digital this year.  They introduced a new App where you photograph or scan your receipts instead of clipping the Box Tops off the cereal boxes.  While I can appreciate the effort to make the Box Tops system modern and easier, I am super bummed about the new digital program.  I know I am not the only one, I have spoken with many fellow mom friends who feel the same way.  We forget to submit our receipts or they end up lost.  Sometime receipts are super long and difficult to photograph and submit.

I know my kids school has greatly benefited from the Box Tops program over the years. Our kids school uses the funds raised through the Box Tops for our end of year field day festivities as well as for any needed sports and physical education equipment.  Another downfall to the App is our kids school gives incentives to which class brings in the most Box Tops for the month, well with the App there is no way to track that.

I figure that it will take some time to get used to the new digital program and perhaps I will get in the habit of immediately submitting my receipts.  Unfortunately I know too often I send my husband to the grocery store, or he'll stop at Costco on his way home from work for me and I will not see that receipt.  I don't know about the men in your life, but my husband carries a very thin wallet, so receipts go immediately in the garbage or get lost in the travel from store, to car to home.
With four boys we purchase a lot of cereal and other food items that have Box Tops.  It is such a bummer when recently we went to Costco purchased 4 of the large Cinnamon Toast Crunch boxes, which have bonus Box Tops, and the receipt is lost.  I hate that our school missed out on those Box Tops.  I hate that I feel schools in general will suffer and lose out on the benefits of Box Tops, schools already are suffering financially, and now this.

I'm all for Apps, and going digital, it's the world we live in.  I just wish they had a QR code inside the cereal boxes that we could scan without a receipt.  That way even if I lost or misplaced my receipt, similar to cutting out a box top, on the inside of the box I could scan a QR code.  Also many retailers are going for paperless receipts, emailed or sent via text, how is that going to work?
From the Box Tops website traditional Box Tops are being phased out, they may continue to be found on many products and you can still clip and send them to school.  Every valid Box Top clip is worth 10 cents.  Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only.  Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label.  If you see this label use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt.  Box Tops are still worth 10 cents for your school.  The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.
What are your thoughts on the new digital program?  Do you love it? Hate it?  Going to take some time to get used to?  Do you have any ideas on how to make it easier?
I think adding a QR code on the inside of the product itself, eliminates the old way of clipping, and still brings it up to date with modern day apps.  Still doesn't solve the class incentive part but it's a start.

Dear Box Tops I am not a Fan of Your New Digital Program

As a mom with four boys ages 4 to 12 years old, I thought I would share some Christmas gift ideas for kids.  Maybe you are a grandparent, aunt, or uncle and looking for ideas of what to purchase this Christmas season for kids.  These are either items on my kids' Christmas List or items we already have and love.

This is not a sponsored post, while there are no affiliate links on this post, a few of the items on this list were gifted to us over this past year.  Although I receive this benefit the opinions I share on my blog are 100% mine.  I always try to be transparent when I have a sponsored post or am collaborating with a brand.  I aim to only share products and services that I honestly enjoy.

PS4 Gaming Console
If you have kiddos who love gaming as much as mine do, then this is definitely on their Christmas wish list.  This is a higher-priced item that you definitely want to keep your eye on to score on Black Friday.  Also watch for "Bundle" deals, which include games and additional accessories.
Currently depending if you go for the basic or pro console the retail price ranges from $269-$367.
From the preview of ads, I've seen Target seems to have the best deal available this year.  For $199, Includes a jet-black 1TB PS4, a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, and three free games.

Combo Game Table (Ping Pong, Foosball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Billiard Game Set)
This would be a great family gift idea.  My kids love playing ping pong, Foosball, and table tennis.
From Target to Walmart these retail for about $150-$300.

Amazon 10 in 1 Game Table: https://amzn.to/2CvB0dN

Apple Play Cards
Not my favorite idea of a gift, but definitely on my kids' Christmas list.  They love to buy V-bucks for Fortnite and other games.  I will admit Apple Play Cards fit nicely in stockings. You can purchase Apple Play Cards in any dollar amount.  I've spotted these at my local supermarket as well as other retailers.

Ryan's World Toys
My boys love watching Ryan's World and love checking out all the "Ryan's World" themed toys.  In collaboration with Just Play Products this summer we purchased the Ryan's World Super Surprise Safe at Walmart and my boys loved finding all the hidden treasures.  They also loved the safe, and they still use it today.
Retails for $39.82 at Walmart.
http://bit.ly/33ColBv

Sports Apparel
My boys love sports, from soccer, and football to our local Sacramento Kings.  They have their favorite teams and would love any Jersey, T-shirt, poster, playing cards, really anything with their favorite sports team.

Books
Every year we buy our boys books for Christmas.  They usually have a series they want and I love to foster their love of reading.  This year on their wish list is Dog Man, we found a boxed gift set at Costco at a great price.  In years past, it has been the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Box Car Children, Adventures in Odyssey.
More Book Ideas - Joke Books, Comic Books, Books on Coding.
Dog Man Amazon link: https://amzn.to/33B8l2U

Nerf Guns
My boys love Nerf Guns!  There are a variety of the NEW Fortnite Nerf Guns. They would love any of them.

Board Games
Last year the Fortnite Monopoly Board Game was on their list, my boys still love Fortnite and they love all different themed Monopoly games.  This year they've asked for The Chameleon, Family Feud Disney Edition, 5-Second Rule, and Brain Games Kids edition.
If you want to personalize or make a board game gift even more special, include some popcorn and a Redbox movie night rental. You could create a family game night gift basket, include a gift certificate for pizza, and include their favorite candy and snacks, this makes an ordinary board game special.

Backyard Play Gifts
Soccer Goal Net, Trampoline, Basketball hoop.  We have all of these and these were my favorite gifts my boys received, they use these items daily.  If you have the yard space, these are great gifts they will use all year long.

Rollplay Nighthawk Ride on Toy
My kids love to ride on motorized toys.  We were gifted a Nighthawk last year and my kids loved it.  I think the speed is perfect, not too fast, not too slow and it turns with ease.  You can find these at Walmart right now for $98 regularly priced $139.
Walmart link: http://bit.ly/2Cy2WgX

Bluetooth Speakers or Headphones
You can find unique and kid-themed Bluetooth Speakers that make great gifts.  My kiddos go to sleep at night listening to audiobooks, they each have a Bluetooth speaker in their room.  Bluetooth Headphones are great for road trips or flights when they travel with their tablets and devices.

Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone
My kids love to sing, and so do I.  We love to sing along to our favorite Disney tunes and more.  Check out this fun Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone.  This would make a great gift this Christmas!
Amazon link: https://amzn.to/33FD9PT

Experience Gifts
I love the idea of giving a gift that is an experience and not necessarily an item.  These gifts will last more than one day, they will not end up being a broken or lost toys.  Experience gifts provide long-lasting memories.  These are great items to keep in mind to gift this Christmas.
Here are a few of our local favorites: Raging Waters Season Pass (their Black Friday deal is already available), Six Flags Season Pass, Ice Skating Tickets, MojoDojo Gift Card, and In-door Sky Diving at iFly.

Tennis Shoes
I put this on the list as a practical item, kids go through shoes like crazy and kids also love shoes.  My boys get excited about a new pair of Nike shoes, especially if I can find them in their favorite color.  Don't discount practical gifts for Christmas, they are especially appreciated by the parents.

Preschool Toys
My little guy would love any toy, pajama, or book from his favorite characters, Peppa Pig, PJ Masks, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Jake & the Neverland Pirates, Paw Patrol, and more.  He loves painting, play-dough, and of course the classic Hot Wheels.

Disney+ Streaming
Disney+ just debuted this week!!!!  This would be a great family gift.  We are so excited and already absolutely love it.  At $6.99 per month, this is a very budget-friendly gift idea, even if you gifted a few months so they could try and see if they'd enjoy it.  Again you could gift a DIY certificate, include popcorn, candy and snacks or a pizza gift card for a great family movie night gift basket.  You can also purchase a yearly subscription for $69.99. Disney+ is available on a variety of streaming devices for example Roku, Apple TV, Google, Microsoft and Sony.  You get the best of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.  Unlimited downloads on up to ten devices.  For more information visit the website at https://preview.disneyplus.com/.

Pillow Pets
Pillow Pets make great gifts!  These plush stuffed animals bring smiles to the faces of all ages.  I love dual-purpose items, I consider these a stuffed animal/toy, and they are pillows as well.  Perfect for when the kids are watching a movie downstairs to bring their pillow pet, these are great for sleepovers, and long car rides.  As a Disney fan family, we have a few different Disney characters, over the years my boys have had other animals as well.  You can find these on Amazon as well as on the Pillow Pet website https://www.pillowpets.com/.  On their website, I spotted some on clearance 50% off through 11/18/19Disney Retro Minnie is ONLY $13.50.  My boys would love any of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Disney characters and Lion Guard.  They also have brand NEW Sleep Time Lites, nightlight and plush toy in one.
These pictured below were gifted to us, one for our Disney Play-date Party and one last Christmas, we love them!

Thank you for reading I wish your family a very Merry Christmas!  I'm sharing these gift ideas because I also love to know what other kids are into for gift ideas not only during the holidays but for birthdays as well.  I hope you find this list helpful in your Christmas shopping this year.

As a busy family on the go I am very grateful for all the help I can get when it comes to meal time. I especially need the extra help during soccer season and the upcoming holidays, when our schedule can be quite full. I was so excited to learn that in partnership with DoorDash, customers can get their meal time favorites from Save Mart and Lucky Supermarkets delivered.
I've used DoorDash before, usually to order from our local pizza or fast food. With the addition of Save Mart I love that we now have the option for items like a Rotisserie Chicken. My kiddos would eat pizza everyday if I let them, it's nice to have some healthier options even when I am not making a home cooked meal.

DoorDash offers shoppers a quick, on-demand delivery of hot food items like whole Rotisserie Chickens, Chicken Tender Bites, salads, custom-made sandwiches as well as side dishes and desserts. Menu hours are open from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM daily.
Using DoorDash was simple and quick. I already had the App downloaded on my phone, I opened the app, searched for Save Mart, once selected you will see a list of featured items. As you scroll down you can select Popular Items, Sandwiches, Made to Order Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, Chicken Tender Bites, Wings, Fried Chicken, Rotisserie Chicken, Meal Side Items, Chips, Drinks, and Desserts.

Depending on your local Save Mart or Lucky Supermarket, the menu items may vary based on the stores prepared hot food selection.
As you select your menu items, you can add special instructions and click "Add to Order". Once you've completed adding items, click view cart and then continue. Check the promo section, if you are a first time DoorDash user you may have a first time free delivery promo code available. Many times you will also have free delivery with an order over a specific dollar amount.

Once you place your order, you will receive a text that says they will let you know when your Dasher has picked up your order. Twenty minutes after placing our order I received a text saying my order had been picked up from Save Mart and my Dasher was on the way. Fifteen minutes later I received a text saying "Your Dasher Michael is approaching with your order from Save Mart Supermarket. Enjoy your meal!"

You can also open the app while waiting and it will give you an estimated time of arrival, keeping you updated on the status of your order.
I loved the text update knowing my order had been picked up and was on its way. I don't know about your kiddos, mine always ask "is dinner done yet?" It was nice to be able to confidently let them know it was on its way and would arrive shortly.

This past Saturday we had three soccer games and one was across town. By the time we headed home, I was not feeling like making dinner and did not want to go through the drive through. It was very convenient to go home, the kiddos were able to shower and get started on their evening routine, we unloaded the soccer gear from the car, cleaned up around the house and had dinner ordered and on its way.
We ordered a Smokehouse Rotisserie Chicken and Chicken Caesar Salad for my husband and I to share, Chicken Tenders, Potato Wedges and Kings Hawaiian Dinner Rolls for the kids as well as an order of Fresh Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Last night we attended the Disney on Ice opening night of "Worlds of Enchantment" at the Golden 1 Center.  We were ecstatic to see Mickey, Minnie and friends as they introduced us to some of our Disney favorites, Disney Pixar’s Cars, The Little Mermaid, Frozen and the Toy Story gang.  You can catch the Worlds of Enchantment show at the Golden 1 Center all this weekend November 7-10, 2019.
As part of the media, we were treated to pre-show fun.  I am so grateful for these unique and special opportunities.  They had fun arts and crafts as well as delicious fruit skewers, this all heightened the excitement for a magical evening. We also had a special visit from Mickey and Minnie who were stylish in their racing gear, Lighting McQueen style.  We were so excited to have our picture taken with them, it is always nice to experience some Disney magic right here in our hometown of Sacramento.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy opened the show and made appearances between each set change to introduce the different “worlds”.  They first introduce us to the Toy Story gang, then we dive under the sea with The Little Mermaid followed by an intermission.

My kiddos favorite part was Toy Story, they loved the soldiers who marched and danced, and were entertained with the parachuting soldier and claw that came from the ceiling.
As a mom I greatly appreciate the intermission time which is about 15-20 minutes, great for bathroom breaks, no one misses the show and it is nice to get up and stretch your legs.  After intermission we are introduced to Cars and then the night ends with time in Arendelle with Frozen.

We loved singing along with all our favorite songs from Cars, Frozen and The Little Mermaid, during Toy Story, they share some adult favorite tunes with Ken and Barbie such as "Dream Weaver" and "Le Frec".  I love watching the adults enjoy themselves just as much as the kids, dancing and singing along.  Another one of our Disney on Ice favorites are the pyrotechnic flashes during action parts.
Disney on Ice Presents Worlds of Enchantment did not disappoint!  It was magical and exciting!  Disney did a great job with set design and costumes, don’t they always! I did notice an increase in concession stand prices.  Snow Cone Souvenir cups were $18, Cotton Candy was $18, Popcorn was $15 in a tote or $18 with a Mickey Bucket.  We appreciate the refillable souvenir cup which is $11.  You receive a bracelet and unlimited soda refills, we also enjoyed the nachos which were $8. Attending Disney on Ice definitely provides fun family memories, we have taken our kiddos for years, they look forward to going each year.

You can reserve parking ahead of time with SacPark.org or ParkingPanda.com.  It is super easy, I reserved parking right on my phone, it gave me a QR code to scan.  Most parking garages are a short walk, and there are crowds of people parking and walking with you to and from the Golden One Center.  I chose the 520 Capitol Mall Garage, the entrance is on N Street and is a quick walk. Even at night, it was well lit, and there are crowds of people parking and walking with you to and from Golden One Center.  If it is your first time visiting the Golden One Center, I recommend you give yourself plenty of time to arrive and locate parking, especially allocate time for traffic flow.  There are quite a few parking garages to choose from or street parking if available.
