New Years Eve is upon us, one of my favorite things to do is watching the ball drop from time square on TV.  My kiddos are still too young to stay up to countdown till midnight.  The past couple of years my oldest boys have "tried" to stay up but everyone ends up falling asleep, which is okay with me.

Kids just like adults love a good party though.  In lieu of staying up till midnight having a Noon Years Eve Countdown with the kids is a great idea.  You can have a simple and fun party from 11 AM to Noon counting down to welcome the New Year!

Let's talk food and drinks first.  Since your party is at Noon, right at the lunch hour, they will need to eat.  I don't know about your kids but my kiddos would rather snack than have an actual sit down meal.  They love finger foods and snack foods, a charcuterie board is a dream come true for them!

Make your own DIY Kid Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie Boards are very popular right now and kids love to snack so this is the perfect easy way to entertain.  You can use butcher paper on the table or a cutting board.  Gather your favorite kid friendly snacks and arrange on the board.
Here is a list of what we used: Grapes, Apple Slices, Goldfish, Crackers, Salami, Cubed Cheese, Yogurt Covered Pretzels, Mini Cookies, Tortilla Pinwheels, Pretzel Sticks, and some candy.
Charcuterie Boards are beautiful and are the perfect centerpiece for any table.

Cotton Candy Kid Spritzer
Have cotton candy in a glass and either use 7-Up, Sprite or Sparkling Cider. You can find plastic flutes at your local Dollar Store.  My kiddos love pouring over the cotton candy and watching it disappear, it turns your drink into a pretty sweet sparkling pink drink.

Now let us talk activities.  The kiddos are home for Christmas break anyway and you need to keep them busy here are some ideas to have fun counting down to the New Year with your kiddos while keeping them active, off their electronic devices and hopefully so busy having fun they forget to fight with their siblings.

DIY Craft Countdown Clock
Keep little hands buys and have them create their very own clock countdown.
Use a paper plate, pipe cleaners, stickers, buttons or any other craft items you have on hand.  You will need a punch hole, paper plates and craft supplies.
You could make this a real working clock and practice time, or just have your kids glue the clock hands made from construction paper, totally up to you.
DIY Noise Makers
You can purchase noise makers at the Dollar Store, or you can make your own.  Use empty water bottles and rice, beans, pebbles, or beads whatever you have on hand.
We have made these before to attend sporting events and we have died the rice with a drop of food coloring.
Word for 2020
Choosing a word for the New Year is a great way to have your kids think about goals and what they envision the New Year to be for them.  With each New Year I endeavor to have my kids come up with goals in different areas (Social, Physical, Spiritual, Educational).  Depending on their age a great simple way to introduce them to goal setting is simply choosing a Word to focus on.
This can be one of your countdown activities, have them write their word on a 3x5 index card.  You can decorate your card with markers, stickers, and even frame it or have them pin it on a bulletin board in their room.
Here is a link for a free printable I made of Word Ideas to help prompt them.

Photo Booth Fun
We love having fun taking pictures, you can buy a photo booth backdrop at the Dollar Store or make your own with streamers, a table cloth or blanket.  At the Dollar Store you can also find photo booth props or have your kiddos find some props from around the house.
DIY Party Hats
I purchased party hats at the Dollar Store you could make your own with construction paper.  I am going to have my kiddos spruce up our party hats with some leftover Christmas tinsel garland I have had for years.  My kiddos love using the hot glue gun, so they will enjoy adding on to the party hats I bought.
Looking for more ways to keep little hands busy?  I found some cookie decorating kits on clearance at my local grocery store, that is another great activity, have them decorate their own cookie or cupcake.

Make a time capsule.
Use a shoe box, have them decorate the outside and then they can add in things that remind them of this past year.  They could add in a ticket stub from an event, they could add in a picture of themselves, they could write out on paper a list of their favorite things.

Make a gratitude jar.
Have your kids get started on a gratitude jar.  Then each week have them write on a strip of paper what they are grateful for, then at the end of the year you can rehears all of the amazing things that happened throughout the year.

Scavenger Hunt
This is always a fun way to have them use up all that energy they have.  Especially if the weather is nice have them go into the backyard and find things such as a smooth rock, a leaf, something yellow, something green, pine-cone, flower, bark.  You could have them find three different types of leaves and three different types of rocks.

Sensory Bin
Depending on the ages of your children.  My toddler loves sensory bins.  You can make your own using rice, popcorn kernels, slime, water and more.  Toss in mini figurines, plastic toys from the Dollar Store and you'll have your own DIY Sensory Bin.

I hope some of these ideas help you have fun ringing in the new year with your kids. We wish you a safe and Happy New Year. Thank you for reading if you’ve enjoyed the content you’ve read above please share with your friends. www.BlogAboutItAll.com.

We are so excited to share the news with you that our family is growing!  We've adopted, and want to introduce you to our our newest addition.  Our family is growing by four paws....Kitty paws!!!!

Meet the adorable "Demi" our new cat.  The boys picked the named Demi, no not after Demi Lovato Sorry not Sorry although I do love her, it is after all of their initials (Diego, Emanuel, Matteo, Isaiah).

My boys have been asking for a pet for awhile now my husband's answer has always been a Stone Cold No.  They have had fish and turtles but never a dog or cat.  When people always ask if we have pets, I always say Get Back, are you crazy I have four boys to take care of, definitely not looking for more work.

My husband and I both grew up with pets and I must admit having a pet as a child seems like a rite of passage.  I had a cat growing up, chickens and a few dogs.  My husband's family had a beautiful and very loved border collie named Bobbi for over 15 years.  While a few years back I was encouraging my husband that we should get a dog, and more recently our four year old started asking for a baby, chickens, goats or a cat.  My hubby met us in the middle and we decided to ease our way into the "pet owner life" with a cat.
We adopted our cat from Itsie Bitsie Rescue, the process was very easy.  We visited Pet Smart to ask questions and find out about the process a couple of weeks ago.  This past weekend we went to Pet Smart who hosts Itsie Bitsie Pet adoptions on most weekends from Noon to 5 PM.  We put our name on a waiting list, it is a first come, first serve basis.  We looked at all the kittens through the glass and made a couple choices, just in case someone before us picked the one we wanted.  We actually ended up with the kitten of our choice, which we were ecstatic about.  Once your name is called you are taken into a room, where you are introduced to your pet to see if it is a good fit.  A friendly and super helpful volunteer went over tips in caring for our new kitten as well as sharing as much information as they had on file.  They sent us home with a bag of food, a cat toy and a handcrafted blanket by one of their great volunteers.  The boys will Remember December forever.  I am Confident that this kitty will be well loved and have an exciting life with four boys loving on her.

Our Kitten is four months old and was originally named Buttons, because she is cute as a button.  While we all loved that name, three of the boys had their heart set on calling her Demi and my youngest has changed her name about five times so we are sticking with Demi.
If you found this post from my social media announcement picture Tell Me You Love Me and that you are not too disappointed that it wasn't a baby announcement.  Also did you spot some hidden names in this blog post?  Comment if you did!
Itsie Bitsie Rescue is a non-profit organization.  They depend on donations, grants, and volunteers to keep their small rescue running. The majority of the funding for rescue comes from donations provided by loyal sponsors and adoption fees.  They provide safe shelter, love, and time to develop for unweaned kittens and puppies so that they too can find forever homes.

They have an amazing group of volunteers. The work of their volunteers is what makes their organization so successful. They are always looking for more dedicated volunteers to help with animal foster care, adoption and fundraising. If you are interested you can find more info at

I'm sure you know how difficult it can be to get a picture of multiple children, you can only imagine how much fun we have had adding a cat in the mix. Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!  This is one of my favorite weeks, I love baking, cooking and I am looking forward to the time spent around the table with family and friends.

One of our Annual Thanksgiving traditions is we attend Praise and Pancakes at our church.  We start our morning in church at 7 AM, we come in our PJ's, no one is fancy, and everyone is welcome.  We sing a few worship songs to God and after worship some get up and share what they are thankful for.  We then have pancakes all together.  It is one of my most favorite Thanksgiving traditions.
One of the things I am grateful for is YOU! Thank you for supporting my blog in any way that you do.  I appreciate each and every one of you who stop to read a post.  Thank you to all of you who follow over on social media and like, comment and share.  I am extremely grateful for the connections and friendships I've made through blogging.  It always blesses me when people e-mail or message me I love connecting with you all.  I've bonded over motherhood with some, swapped Keto hacks and recipes with others, and I am forever grateful for the many of you who send encouraging notes, you guys are the best cheerleaders.
After Praise and Pancakes once we are home we put on the Macy's Day Parade while we cook, prep and of course snack all morning long.  My husband being from Michigan you can count on the Lions Game being on as well. We typically have our Thanksgiving meal early around 1 o'clock, we kind of graze so it's lunch and dinner.

Over the years we have eaten low carb and Keto style off and on.  This year since January is the first time we have been the most consistent and this will be the first Thanksgiving we decided to stick with our Keto eating plan.  No cheat day for us.  I love how I feel healthier and I am grateful for all the different options that are available with "mock" recipes and so many Keto ideas available on the internet.  You definitely want to try my Keto Stuffing Recipe you can find that here
The typical Thanksgiving meal is actually very Keto-friendly.  Turkey, Ham, Veggies, and Salad, the only things that are not Keto-friendly are the potatoes, stuffing and sweets.  I'm so excited about all the Keto things we are eating this year.  I thought I'd share my menu in case any of you are trying to stick to healthier options.  I tried all of these recipes before Thanksgiving week, the only one that I added in last minute is the "mock sweet potato casserole".  Sweet Potato Casserole is one of my most favorite Thanksgiving side dishes.  I have used Trisha Yearwood's recipe for years, but I am sure you know the typical recipe is full of sugar.

For this years sweet potato casserole I kind of improvised between these two recipe links below. I am really impressed on how well this turned out.  I already have prepped the casserole part and it's in the refrigerator, I just have to add the pecan topping and bake on Thanksgiving day.  Typical sweet potato casserole uses Yam's which are very high in carbs, so I swapped Yam's out for a combination of Butternut Squash, Cauliflower and a Cup of Pumpkin puree.
Wholesome Yum's Recipe here.
Life Made Sweeter Recipe here.
I roasted the 1 Butternut Squash (peeled and cubed) and 1 medium head of Cauliflower in the oven tossed with olive oil for about 30 minutes.  Once cooled I put them in our Ninja Blender to smooth.  I put the pureed veggies in my mixer and added in 1 cup of can pumpkin puree, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of Truvia Brown Sugar, a Tsp. of Vanilla, sprinkled in some cinnamon a splash of heavy whipping cream.

I'm going to keep my pecan topping pretty basic, with chopped pecans, almond flour, brown sugar Truvia, cinnamon and salt.  Once on top of the casserole I will put some dollops of butter and bake.  I don't have a picture yet with the pecan topping, I'll have to update this post after Thanksgiving.

I will have to come back and let you know about the Low Carb/Keto bread I purchased from a local Keto Baker.  I have not tried her bread before but Thanksgiving would not be complete without day after Thanksgiving Turkey leftover sandwiches, am I right?. I pre-ordered one loaf of her bread and also one of her Pumpkin Cheesecake Loaf's.  You can never have too many Keto desserts right!  You can find her on Instagram @Mels_Low_Carb_Co.

I hope you have a delicious and relaxing Thanksgiving surrounded by love!  If you have a favorite low carb or Keto-friendly Thanksgiving recipe I would love to hear about it, feel free to comment on this blog post.  You can e-mail me at theblogaboutitall@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @blogaboutitall.  Happy Thanksgiving!!!

General Mills Box Tops for Education Program went digital this year.  They introduced a new App where you photograph or scan your receipts instead of clipping the Box Tops off the cereal boxes.  While I can appreciate the effort to make the Box Tops system modern and easier, I am super bummed about the new digital program.  I know I am not the only one, I have spoken with many fellow mom friends who feel the same way.  We forget to submit our receipts or they end up lost.  Sometime receipts are super long and difficult to photograph and submit.

I know my kids school has greatly benefited from the Box Tops program over the years. Our kids school uses the funds raised through the Box Tops for our end of year field day festivities as well as for any needed sports and physical education equipment.  Another downfall to the App is our kids school gives incentives to which class brings in the most Box Tops for the month, well with the App there is no way to track that.

I figure that it will take some time to get used to the new digital program and perhaps I will get in the habit of immediately submitting my receipts.  Unfortunately I know too often I send my husband to the grocery store, or he'll stop at Costco on his way home from work for me and I will not see that receipt.  I don't know about the men in your life, but my husband carries a very thin wallet, so receipts go immediately in the garbage or get lost in the travel from store, to car to home.
With four boys we purchase a lot of cereal and other food items that have Box Tops.  It is such a bummer when recently we went to Costco purchased 4 of the large Cinnamon Toast Crunch boxes, which have bonus Box Tops, and the receipt is lost.  I hate that our school missed out on those Box Tops.  I hate that I feel schools in general will suffer and lose out on the benefits of Box Tops, schools already are suffering financially, and now this.

I'm all for Apps, and going digital, it's the world we live in.  I just wish they had a QR code inside the cereal boxes that we could scan without a receipt.  That way even if I lost or misplaced my receipt, similar to cutting out a box top, on the inside of the box I could scan a QR code.  Also many retailers are going for paperless receipts, emailed or sent via text, how is that going to work?
From the Box Tops website traditional Box Tops are being phased out, they may continue to be found on many products and you can still clip and send them to school.  Every valid Box Top clip is worth 10 cents.  Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only.  Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label.  If you see this label use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt.  Box Tops are still worth 10 cents for your school.  The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.
What are your thoughts on the new digital program?  Do you love it? Hate it?  Going to take some time to get used to?  Do you have any ideas on how to make it easier?
I think adding a QR code on the inside of the product itself, eliminates the old way of clipping, and still brings it up to date with modern day apps.  Still doesn't solve the class incentive part but it's a start.
For a list of participating products click the image below or here.

As a mom with four boys ages 4 to 12 years old, I thought I would share some Christmas gift ideas for kids.  Maybe you are a grandparent, aunt, or uncle and looking for ideas of what to purchase this Christmas season for kids.  These are either items on my kids' Christmas List or items we already have and love.

This is not a sponsored post, while there are no affiliate links on this post, a few of the items on this list were gifted to us over this past year.  Although I receive this benefit the opinions I share on my blog are 100% mine.  I always try to be transparent when I have a sponsored post or am collaborating with a brand.  I aim to only share products and services that I honestly enjoy.

PS4 Gaming Console
If you have kiddos who love gaming as much as mine do, then this is definitely on their Christmas wish list.  This is a higher-priced item that you definitely want to keep your eye on to score on Black Friday.  Also watch for "Bundle" deals, which include games and additional accessories.
Currently depending if you go for the basic or pro console the retail price ranges from $269-$367.
From the preview of ads, I've seen Target seems to have the best deal available this year.  For $199, Includes a jet-black 1TB PS4, a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, and three free games.

Combo Game Table (Ping Pong, Foosball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Billiard Game Set)
This would be a great family gift idea.  My kids love playing ping pong, Foosball, and table tennis.
From Target to Walmart these retail for about $150-$300.

Apple Play Cards
Not my favorite idea of a gift, but definitely on my kids' Christmas list.  They love to buy V-bucks for Fortnite and other games.  I will admit Apple Play Cards fit nicely in stockings. You can purchase Apple Play Cards in any dollar amount.  I've spotted these at my local supermarket as well as other retailers.

Ryan's World Toys
My boys love watching Ryan's World and love checking out all the "Ryan's World" themed toys.  In collaboration with Just Play Products this summer we purchased the Ryan's World Super Surprise Safe at Walmart and my boys loved finding all the hidden treasures.  They also loved the safe, and they still use it today.
Retails for $39.82 at Walmart.
