My friend John Tindall who is normally working in the West Sacramento Walmart has been helping with this process and these pictures below are from his Facebook. I will share on my Instagram what I spot at the Re-Grand Opening find me over @blogaboutitall. A little side note, John and his family are very involved in Children's Miracle Network, so if you are looking for a great cause to get involved with reach out to John and find out how you can volunteer and make a difference. I love providing people with contacts and information on how they can give back.
This Walmart located at 7901 Watt Avenue has been under construction the past few months, and now is completely remodeled. I have to be honest during this remodel I have avoided this Walmart and frequented the Super Walmart on Antelope Road, even though it is farther from my house. I am super excited to see the improvements and I am looking forward to returning and shopping at my local Walmart.
The festivities will begin at 9 AM this FRIDAY, August 30th and go through to about 1 PM. There will be the ribbon cutting ceremony, in which there will be free food, lots of vendors giveaways and more. My favorite local dance studio "Studio T" will be performing as well as local, high school marching bands and much more! Check out the remodel and all the fun this Friday, August 30th at Walmart 7901 Watt Avenue off Elverta.
Another reason I wanted to share about this is my favorite local non-profit Sacramento Helping Hands Foundation will be in attendance at the Re-Grand Opening. They are collecting much needed school supplies for FC Joyce Elementary School in North Highlands. Although school is already in session this school and teachers NEED your assistance. They need school supplies! So while you visit the local Antelope Walmart, I am asking that you pick up some school supplies while you shop and donate them to Sacramento Helping Hands Foundation, they will have a table set up outside the store at the Re-Grand Opening!
This is an easy way to give back right here locally! Save the date of Saturday, September 14th from 9-Noon, Sacramento Helping Hands will be having a Back to School Block Party. They will be giving the donated school supplies to FC Joyce, providing FREE haircuts for students and having local community fun. There will be food, line dancing, giveaways and you can even meet Disney's Woody and Jessie!
I have found many times people and families want to give back somewhere they just don't know where to go or they think they have to give a huge amount to make a difference.
I also love giving back locally when you see the impact right here in our very own community. Maybe you can be a big sponsor, thank you! Maybe you can pick up $20 in school supplies while you shop, thank you, $20 can go a long way to these students in need and maybe you can volunteer to help at the event or can contact a business or friend who can get involved, help spread the word. All of it helps, makes an impact and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading! Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or need more info on how to get involved with SacHelpingHands.org at theblogaboutitall@gmail.com.
