Today we attended the Disney musical "Newsies" presented by the Roseville Theatre Arts Academy. The academy and their theater are located in downtown Roseville at 241 Vernon St, Roseville, CA 95678.

Parking accommodations are free and easy at the parking structure located at the rear of the building. Even at very busy times with multiple events going on in downtown Roseville, there is always ample parking available. Also in downtown Roseville on Vernon St are plenty of restaurants for a pre or post-show dinner. Tickets are extremely affordable at just $13 per person. This is a great way to support local artist and the community that helps develop local talent and provide them a stage as a showcase. The choreography is sure to amaze and surprise you with the acrobatics and the music with its catchy score will having you humming the songs for weeks on end. 
There are two acts and a 15 min intermission, the show including intermission runs approximately 2 hours. At intermission, there is a budget-friendly snack bar to get a quick snack fix or get that sweet tooth taken care of. I attended with three of my sons, 11, 9, & 7. My boys were singing tunes from the show later that day and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Having last Christmas all three of them involved in a multi-performance musical/play with singing and dancing it was great for them to experience this event and foster their love of the arts.
Before or after the event make sure to use the picture frames and props that are located in the lobby and take plenty of selfies. Who doesn't love sharing these on social media.

Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots). Featuring the now-classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience.
