It is that time of year again for The Great Purse Event, a benefit breakfast for the new NICU at Mercy San Juan Hospital.  I have attended this event each year, fun with a ton of ladies for a great cause.  Proceeds benefit the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mercy San Juan Medical Center through Mercy Foundation.  This is an excellent opportunity to connect with women in our local area and give back to our local Sacramento community, that is why I wanted to invite my local Sacramento readers to join me at this event.

Last year everyone at my table won a purse and some ladies won more than one purse.  While it is not solely about the purses, what woman doesn't love a new purse.  So save the date Saturday, April 4th at 9 AM and reserve your seats for a wonderful Breakfast and Great Purse Event! Invite your family, co-workers, and friends to join you.

Every breakfast ticket includes 2 raffle tickets to win purses from Kate Spade, Dooney and  Bourke, Coach and so many more! Individual Tickets are only $35, there are also sponsorship opportunities. You can purchase additional raffle tickets to increase your chances of winning as well as a silent auction.

Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center has broken ground on a $35 million Neonatal Intensive Care Unit expansion project.  All four of my babies were born at Mercy San Juan Hospital.  Thankfully we did not have need of the NICU, my heart goes out to those mothers and families who often spend months making many visits between home and the hospital to see and care for their preemie.

The new unit will grow from its current size of roughly 1,200 square feet to nearly 18,000 square feet when the project is completed in the summer of 2020.  This new NICU will have state of the art equipment and parents will be able to have a private room with their NICU baby.  Being able to room with your preemie baby and have a place to shower and refresh while you are already mentally and emotionally strained is priceless and an extreme need in our community.

Dignity Health's Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in the Greater Sacramento region at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and Methodist Hospital of Sacramento are equipped with the latest technology and specially-trained staff to care for babies who are seriously ill or born prematurely.

Mercy San Juan's NICU has long been a leader in caring for the smallest of newborns. The most recent data from the Vermont Oxford Network shines an even brighter light on the healthcare professionals who make up the Level III NICU - including neonatologists (doctors specializing in premature and high-risk babies), registered nurses, respiratory therapists, developmental specialists, lactation consultants, dietitians and pharmacists.

Mercy San Juan's NICU includes 26 licensed beds and is equipped to provide specialized care including invasive monitoring, conventional ventilation, surgery, transport service, inhaled nitric oxide and high frequency oscillator ventilation. It is located on the third floor of the Family Birth Center, adjacent to the 32-bed labor, birth, recovery and maternal/infant unit, high-risk pre-birth and post-birth unit, two operating suites, visitors' waiting room and appropriate support areas. And for new moms who are unable to provide enough breast milk for their baby, Mercy San Juan proudly provides donor breast milk to ensure your baby gets the nutrients they need. I am purchasing two tables this year and inviting some people I've connected with through blogging and I am so excited.  So many times, we get busy and don't make time to have a meal together, talk and laugh.  We like each other's posts on social media but don't really connect.  I'm grateful for social media, I've connected with many through social media but I love when we can get together in person and catch up, encourage one another, share what's working for us in life, marriage, motherhood, and business.
We were also treated last year to hear from Sacramento Native, now Good Morning America Correspondent Adrienne Bankert as well as Eileen Javora who anchored on our local KCRA News.  I hope you will get a group of ladies together and join us at this Breakfast Great Purse Event!  Call up your friends, get your women's group together or fellow soccer moms and join us!
