We were invited to Leatherby's Family Creamery to try the NEW “Need More Cowbell Shake”!  How could we say no, we love supporting our Sacramento Kings and local establishments.  We are so excited about this new shake we want to share the goodness with you!  Follow closely over on my Instagram @blogaboutitall as I will have FIVE opportunities to WIN a $20 gift card to Leatherby's.  The Need More Cowbell is a throwback to a “purple cow” milkshake and it is delicious! It’s a yummy grape flavor blended with creamy vanilla ice cream, it has marshmallow cream, Kings themed sprinkles and topped with whip cream, for me it was a perfect blend of sweet and tart, YUM! Purple cows were a traditional shake in 1950’s ice cream parlors.  I love the nostalgic ice cream parlor feel of Leatherby's.

Our family loves to go to Leatherby's, we look for reasons to celebrate here, good grades, soccer game wins, date nights and even ice cream for dinner nights when dad is working out of town!  One of my favorite memories at Leatherby's was sharing a banana split with my then boyfriend, who is now my husband.  As we shared and talked I guess I must have been doing a lot of talking because about half way through our banana split I mentioned I had not had any banana, and then my love replied "I think I've eaten it all."  My boys recently enjoyed the S'more Shake.  Another thing I love about Leatherby's is they have fun additions to their menu with each season.
My boys have a NEW favorite which is on their Fall Specials the Monster Mash Milk Shake, it is Cookie Monster Ice Cream turned spooky with creepy crawling gummies, crushed Oreo and ghostly whipped cream.  Also on their Fall Specials you'll find the Giant Pumpkin Sundae, Bobby's Buffalo Bleu Chicken Sandwhich, and Onion Rings, one of my favorites.

You definitely want to follow them on social media so you can be the first to know of any specials and deals.  Just yesterday they were giving FREE Triple Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with fries with any Sundae purchase!

You definitely want to hurry into Leatherby's and try the King’s themed Shake "Need More Cowbell" as it is ONLY available until October 31st.  With every shake purchase $5 will be given back to the Buddy Hield Foundation.  Ice cream at Leatherby’s is great anytime but even more so, for a good cause! Buddy Hield is a NBA Player for the Sacramento Kings and from the Bahamas he is fundraising for Hurricane Dorian relief in the Bahamas.
I love and admire that Leatherby's is a family owned business started by Dave and his wife Sally in 1982, they have a commitment to quality and giving back to the community.  Many Leatherby family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and other relatives still work at Leatherby’s today. As stated on their website the ice cream parlor is their home away from home. It has allowed them to enjoy what is most important in life…family and friends…and serving others.  I absolutely love that!

Of course Leatherby's is known for their ice cream, they also have delicious hamburgers and many other meal items on their menu as well as delicious take home treats like hot fudge and caramel sauces.  Leatherby's has three locations in the Sacramento area.
