Disclosure: I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows.  Even though I receive these benefits, I always give an opinion that is 100% mine.

Our family absolutely loves all things Disney! Disney on Ice is one of our favorite shows, I mean come on it is the Disney Magic being brought right to our hometown.  While I am super excited about Disney on Ice coming to Sacramento October 28-31, 2021, I was extremely disappointed in the Golden 1 Center requiring Vaccination cards and/or Covid-19 testing, I think its completely ridiculous especially for young children.

As far as the Disney on Ice show "Let's Celebrate" it is wonderful.  You get to see more than 50 beloved characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and featuring an ensemble of Disney Princesses including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Snow White and Tiana. The wintry wonderland of Disney’s Frozen comes to life with Anna, Elsa, and the hilarious Olaf.  Exciting moments from Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory, Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast will leave the whole family with memories to last a lifetime.

My personal favorites from the Let's Celebrate show were Mulan and The Lion King! My son said his favorites were Toy Story and Aladdin. Tickets are on sale now for Friday, October 29th 7 PM show, Saturday, October 30th, 11 AM, 3 PM and 7 PM and Sunday, October 31st 11 AM and 3 PM.

Disney on Ice always does an amazing job of bringing to life our favorite Disney characters.  Even as a grown up I love singing along to all the Disney songs.  It is a wonderful time for parents to enjoy time with their children, step away from the hustle and bustle of life and just enjoy our kids being kids.  I love seeing my kids eyes light up as our beloved Disney characters take the ice.  The dancing, music, choreography and costumes always amaze me.

Hearing all the people in the arena sing a long to Disney songs, brings such joy to my heart. Seeing all the little kids attend in costume, little girls dressed as their favorite Disney princess and little boys in their Buzz Lightyear and Woody costumes, it is so fun, I absolutely love it. If you would like to see some glimpses of the Disney on Ice Let's Celebrate Show, go check out my Instagram Stories and follow on Facebook and TikTok for more.

You can catch the Disney on Ice Let's Celebrate Show now through Sunday, October 31st, purchase tickets at Ticketmaster.com.  To save 20% off tickets use the Discount Code: 2XDOIK. You can reserve parking for Disney on Ice at Reserve.SacPark.org or on SpotHero.com, we found nearby parking for $11 on the SpotHero App.

I do appreciate the paperless tickets and how convenient it is to scan in your tickets with the touchless pedestals.  I love anytime I can use mobile ordering and cashless purchasing of food and beverages, that is a huge plus.

Another favorite is the Bottomless Beverage cup, for only $10, you get unlimited soda refills in a Disney Souvenir Cup, definitely a great buy for families. Popcorn that came with a Mickey Bucket was $18, snow cones served in character cups were $14-$18.  Cotton Candy was $15 they also had light up wands, bubble sticks and a variety of Disney Merch available to purchase.

The only negative part about this event is the health and safety protocols Golden 1 Center has implemented. I just have to be honest as a mom of four children, in my opinion it is too much.  Also so you know before you go, they have a no bag policy.  Only clutches and wallets smaller than 8"x6"x1" are allowed.  There are now kind of two security points, first as you are walking up, there is a checkpoint, they ask to see your vaccination card and photo ID, and/or your Negative Covid-19 Test Result.  Then you proceed to go through the metal detectors and then scan your tickets at the doors. I had the e-mail results of Covid-19 test on my phone, you must also have your mask.  You can read the full health and safety requirements here.

It is quite a hassle to schedule testing for multiple children, hope and pray the results come back in time for an event, or pay the additional fee for a rapid test through Golden 1 on top of paying for parking, food, souvenirs and everything else. This policy is just not family friendly at all.  I understand that we are dealing with Corona Virus, and I am totally okay with the reminders to all "if you have any symptoms please stay home".  I do not agree with events and businesses being the watchdog, and requiring proof of a negative test. I really would have hoped that Golden 1 Center at the very least would have geared these requirements for adults 18+ and not for children. They should seriously reconsider these requirements especially for events that are geared towards families with young children. I hope ticket sales go well for them, even with the requirements, because ultimately I love that events are returning.

I shared with my children the requirements of Golden 1 Center to attend Disney on Ice and gave them the choice if they wanted to be tested.  Three of my four kiddos immediately said yes, they were willing to be tested because they really wanted to go.  One said they were going to pass. I scheduled the appointments for testing and once we arrived, two of the three started having second thoughts.  Only one of our children has ever had to be tested, my youngest had a medical procedure he went in for earlier this year and it was required. He cried and hated it, that is why I was surprised that he agreed to testing this time, but he obviously really wanted to go to Disney on Ice.

Well at testing, only one of the three completed the test.  My youngest got through half of it, did the first nostril, but was in tears and wouldn't sit still for the second half to be done. He was so sad that he was not able to attend Disney on Ice and so am I.

Myself, grandma who is vaccinated and one of my four children who made it through the testing attended the show.  We made the most of it, of course we loved the show, but it was not the same with my other three sons missing out.

Maybe your children have been tested before and do well with it.  I have watched videos of kiddos who do great with the testing, no issues at all.  I showed my children some of those videos of kids handling it super easy in hopes that I could help prepare them ahead of time, but nope that did not work.

After this experience with Covid-19 testing and all, I am not confident that my children will be able to attend future events with these requirements, especially my youngest. I am actually quite concerned because we have already purchased tickets for our family to attend a Golden 1 Center concert in February. We will have to revisit this situation again.

I love supporting the Golden 1 Center, the Sacramento Kings and all events in our city.  I will still continue to share all upcoming events on my blog, because again I love sharing family fun events with you.  You have to decide what is best for your family and what works for you.

Thank you for reading, I hope you appreciate my honest opinion and as always I am extremely grateful for the opportunities and benefits our family receives as a result of sharing our experiences here on my blog.  I am extremely grateful for each and every one of you who follows me on social media and supports with likes, comments and shares. If you would like to see some glimpses of the Disney on Ice Let's Celebrate Show, go check out my Instagram Stories and follow on Facebook and TikTok for more.

I would also love to hear from you, are you attending Disney on Ice? How was your experience, how did testing go for your family? Do these extra protocols make you feel safer in attending events? Do these extra protocols detour you from attending events? I am curious and welcome all feedback, feel free to e-mail me at theblogaboutitall.com

Have you heard of Operation Christmas Child? It is a program through Samaritans Purse that provides Christmas gifts for children around the world. From individuals to groups, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children and bring hope and joy. Partnering with Operation Christmas Child is a great way to teach your children about giving.

We have participated with Operation Christmas Child throughout the years, and have loved doing this as a family.  I've done this with my boys since they were little.  This year my oldest two are packing shoeboxes with their youth group at church. Want to see us pack a box, check out our TikTok.

If you are local in the Sacramento area, you can pick up a Samaritans Purse Shoebox at our local Christian Bookstore Family Books and Gifts (6349 Watt Avenue, North Highlands, CA 95660), here is their phone number if you want to confirm they still have them in stock (916) 334-7626. I have also seen them at Hobby Lobby stores.

National collection week is November 15-22, 2021 this year.  You can find a drop off location near you on their website.  They collect shoeboxes the third week of November every year.

How to pack a shoebox, you can purchase one of their shoe boxes and even track your gift to see where it ends up or you can make your own.

You can make a box for a specific age range and fill your box accordingly.  Ages ranges are 2-4, 5-9, 10-14. Fill your shoe box with gift items!

Some great items to pack your shoe box with are school supplies, glue sticks, crayons, tooth brush, flip flops, socks, playdough, small toys, building blocks, craft items, small stuffed animals, stickers, chalk, jump rope, sunglasses, hair bows, playing cards, puzzles, a personalized letter or Christmas Card.

You can then donate $9 to follow your box and help with the shipping, processing and distributing process of the shoeboxes.

Samaritans Purse has been doing Operation Christmas Child for years, another very cool part of their program, they partner with churches and community leaders who help host child friendly outreach events, that help distribute the boxes as well as the Gospel.  Offering these kids something priceless, the love of God to carry them through.  Many years ago, I interviewed a recipient (Zarina) of a shoebox and her words stay with me "The shoe box impacted my life by giving me my first glimpse of hope.  Receiving the shoe box brought awareness that God was orchestrating something for my life."

Thank you for reading, if you have never packed a shoebox with Samaritans Purse, I hope you will pack your first this year.  I know after seeing how easy it is to give back you will want to continue and make it a Christmas season tradition.

Disclosure: #Sponsored This post is a sponsored post in collaboration with Tree Top Sac. While our family attends sponsored events to share our experiences on our blog, all reviews and opinions expressed here are my own.

Looking for local family fun? Check out Tree Top Sac, our family was recently hosted to see just how fun it is.  Our boys had the best time, even dad joined in on the adventure! I must add right now is the best time to go, we had the perfect Fall weather.

Tree Top Sac is an outdoor adventure park just 10 minutes from Downtown right in West Sacramento.  Imagine an Obstacle Course in the air, in the trees, that is Tree Top Sac.  If you have kiddos who love to Zip Line and are fans of American Ninja Warrior, this is the PERFECT spot.  My sons love to Zip Line, but often at either the Pumpkin Farm or other places we have gone, they can only go on once.  They LOVED that they were able to enjoy Zip Line fun, multiple times.  You will start with a beginners course and then continue each time to a more advanced climb, my boys completed all the climbs and did some of them more than once.

Once you reserve your climb time on-line, you are sent waivers to complete on-line.  On your climb date you will want to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your climb reservation.  It is easy to check in.  You can bring gloves with you, as you will use the ropes to climb, gloves help make it a little easier on your hands.  We purchased gloves on-site at Tree Top Sac, so if you do not have gloves or forget your gloves, you can always purchase gloves on-site.  We did a day climb, they also have night climbs which would be great fun for teenagers.

Step One is Gear Introduction - The Guides will help you get into your gear, harness and helmet and double check for proper fitting.  The Guides are fantastic by the way, they were very watchful, willing to help, they even tightened my children's gear throughout the time we were at the park. The guides were encouraging on the more advanced courses, cheering on the kids and offering tricks and tips.

After Gear Introduction you head to Ground School.  Kind of like a beginners training area, you walk through a mini-course to learn how to clip into the rope system for a safe climb.  I was surprised at how necessary this part is especially for kids, adults had a quicker and easier grasp of how to operate the gear.  Once my boys did it a couple of times they got the hang of it.  I would prepare your children especially younger ones, to ask for help if they need help, the Guides are extremely friendly and helpful. A great opportunity to remind your kiddos that it is okay to ask questions and ask for help.

There are different levels of climbing, you will start with level one and then progress onward after completion.  You will always ask for "clear to climb" after securing in and to be sure no one is in front of you when you are ready for the zip line.

There are bridges, tight wires to walk on, slack wire to balance on 20 feet above the ground, beams to walk on and jump to, my boys got a work out and had the best time.  There are five different parcours and at the end of each parcour you ride an awesome Zip Line.

Kids ages 7-13 are $49 and are required to be accompanied by one participating adult for every 2-5 kids.  Teens ages 14-17 are $54 and adults are $59.  Be sure to visit their website for height and weight requirements.

My little guy is only six so he sat this one out.  I thought it would be good for my little guy to watch big brothers so he could go when he is old enough and I was pleasantly surprised Tree Top Sac has other activities like bean bag toss, giant Jenga blocks, and more.  They provide some outdoor fun for anyone that may be waiting.  They also have a park right next to it, and right near the park, they have a mini-course perfect those under age seven. My little guy had plenty to do while we waited for big brothers and dad. There are picnic tables to sit and squirrels watch as well, so if you have little ones, they could tag along, as long as you have an adult to go on the courses with your kids ages 7-13.

After our climb, which was about two-hours 30 minutes, we saw a family having a birthday party on site. I asked my boys if they would like to do that and they all shouted "YES"!  I agree and think this is a perfect place to have a birthday party! If you are part of a youth sports team, this would be great team building experience too.  Check out their website for group pricing.

On another note, a pass here would make a great stocking stuffer this Christmas.  I love gifting experiences and as a mom of four boys who have plenty of toys and gadgets, I always appreciate experience/activity gifts such as something like this. Tree Top Sac has gift cards and gift certificates available!

We recently volunteered with my sons school soccer team to pack food boxes for an organization called FeedMyStarvingChildren.  I had never heard of this organization before and wow I am so grateful to see how they are making a difference around the world.

They provide meals for children all over in Haiti, Philippines and more.  I was very impressed with the system they had down to welcome volunteers from all kinds of organizations.  We had such a fun night, listing to music, packing food boxes and cheering each other on to see how many we could pack.

They host what they call Mobile Packs all across the country.  We attended the Mobile Pack at St. Matthew's Church in Rocklin, CA. You can apply to host an event with your group or company here. We met in a room first, we were seated with our groups to maintain social distancing.  We watched a video about the organization, and a how to pack video.  We then were dismissed by group to go to hand washing stations, we all had hair nets and gloves, they had a great system in place.  Each group had tables and all the supplies needed to fill Manna Packs.

We were filling packets called Manna Packs, we filled them with rice, veggies, vitamins and soy. From their website: [MannaPack™ Rice is a supplemental food packed with micronutrients that can be enhanced for both variety and nutritional value through its use in recipes that are tailored to the cultural preferences and regional resources. It contains textured soy, a high quality source of protein—one of the key factors for growth and physical development, including brain development. MannaPack™ Rice is also a source of micronutrients. It contains a premix of important vitamins and minerals that can be deficient in diets where there is food insecurity or a lack of resources.]

I am grateful as a parent for opportunities to give back in our community and around the world, it is a great way to serve alongside my children and model what we teach about giving back.  When you see videos of starving children, who struggle concentrating at school because they are so hungry, it sure does remind you of how much we have to be grateful for.

St. Matthews Church in Rocklin hosted a three day packing event, after experiencing this, I wish I would have volunteered my younger children as well and made it a family event.  I will definitely do this again, when they are in our area.  They have easy labeling jobs that are sit down as well as the standing and scooping a cup of rice into a packet, there is something anyone can do.  I believe they said ages 5 and older can volunteer.

On just one of the nights we packed 346 boxes, which was 74,736 servings of food, providing a meal for 204 children for an entire year.  We packed boxes from 7 PM to 9 PM and at the end we all gathered back to hear the totals and pray over the boxes being sent out.  I will definitely be participating again and hope you will find a Mobile Pack event near you so you can experience just how wonderful it is to give back.

Each meal costs less than 25 cents, $88 feeds a child for one year. You can search for an event near you here.  For more information, to donate, or host a Mobile Pack event, check out their website https://www.fmsc.org/.

With all the talk about the School Walkout this Monday, October 18th, which I want to clarify, is not an actual walkout where you go and walkout but actually a SIT-OUT, do not attend, do not get an excused absence, it needs to be an unexcused absence.  I wanted to share another reason why I am so passionate and looking forward to participating this Monday.

A lot of people discuss how we are hurting the schools by not attending.  They are quick to point out our school loses funding, which is one of the main reasons I was hesitant at the very beginning as well.  I love our school, they are against the mandate, the school walk out isn't about them.

The school walkout is aimed towards the State of California, in protest to Governor Newsom's intent to mandate the Covid Vaccine and unfortunately, yes the schools do lose funding for one day for our voices to be heard.  The school walkout is one way we can show we mean business as parents and to fight for our freedom of choice.  If we do not take a stand now and the mandate goes through, the schools, teachers, staff, and a lot of families will be hurt in the long run, when teachers and staff are forced to quit and families forced to pull their kids from school.

Everyone wants to say just, write and call, I have done that, and will continue, sometimes it is just not enough.  As parents we cannot just sit on the sidelines and wait for everyone else to fight for us.  I understand some school boards are fighting for parents rights, but many are not.  Even the ones that are fighting, they can only do so much and guess what at the end of the day, they are going to do what they have to do (comply) to stay in business.

Have you read about the Sacramento City Unified School District and their mandate recently voted, they already give students and staff until November 30th to be vaccinated.  You can read more about that here https://bit.ly/3DMounz.

I wanted to share a little part of my homeschool experience and how it plays a role in why I say we need to stand now and say NO to the Vaccine Mandate.  I homeschooled my oldest son for his 5th, 6th and 7th grade school years.  All of my boys went to a small private Christian School, that used a faith based Curriculum.  My oldest son did not grow up using Common Core Math, so when I enrolled him with Visions in Education a Homeschool Charter option, I did not want him to struggle with Common Core Math in which he was not familiar with. I wanted to stick with Abeka Curriculum for a few of the subjects, Math being one of them.

I understood, that if you chose any "non-approved" curriculum you would have to pay out of pocket for that and I was completely okay with that.  The first year we homeschooled, he was allowed to turn in that work for school credit.  The second year, he had to do additional work to turn in which they considered "approved curriculum" so in essence he had to do double the work because I wanted to use a faith based curriculum, the third year, he couldn't submit any of the Abeka Curriculum, the rules kept changing year after year.  Maybe it was the the Charter I went through, maybe there was another way, but I saw with my own eyes how difficult it was even to homeschool my own child in the State of California.

When I say I chose a faith based curriculum I also want to explain we are talking about 5th and 6th grade math, it still met all state standards, the difference was the word problems used faith based language.  For example, instead of a word problem saying, Mrs. Smith went to the store and bought 10 apples, she gave 4 to her neighbor how many apples does Mrs. Smith have left?  It would say Mrs. Smith bought a dozen apples for her Sunday School Class, ten of the children ate apples how many are left?  The Curriculum had a scripture at the end of each lesson. All the other problems, division, decimals, etc. were the normal math problems that you would see in any other curriculum.

The fact that as a homeschool parent I did not have liberty to use whichever curriculum I wanted is beyond me.  There were other instances as well, where certain books we wanted to use for a biography essay were not allowed, and I understand there has to be some grade level standards, got that, completely agree, but when a curriculum and or book meets the standards but is discriminated against because it uses faith based language that is ridiculous. This is me the parent, teaching my own child, in my own home and it is not "allowed".  I am even okay, with the fact you have to use your personal funds and not "school funds" to purchase but the fact you cannot use it as school credit, ridiculous.

Government overreach is out of hand and continues to trend even more in that direction, I am by no means an expert on some of the issues that California faces. What I do know is too often I hear from friends and family how difficult it is to own a small business in California.  I know many families who have packed up their families and moved out of State, something they never wanted to do but felt forced out by all the Government overreach.

Again I would like to stress that I am not anti-vaccine, what I want is for parents to be able to choose for their own children if they want to take it or not.  Many times people will say, Vaccines have already been mandated, well only 5 out of 16 vaccines are required for school enrollment and they were not immediately mandated.  Parents should have liberty to wait until they feel comfortable, the vaccine has not even been out that long, it has not stood the test of time for adverse affects on our kids.  I have read articles on how there is an increased risk of inflammation in the heart of boys ages 12-17, I have four boys and I am not going to let you just "try" it out on my kids. If the Vaccine works against COVID-19, then why are people concerned about the people who do not choose the Vaccine. I am not against you giving the Vaccine to your children if you want to, go ahead, but why should I be forced to?

Also I know in the news we hear about low ICU beds and more, but what I know personally is the school my kids attend which they have been attending in person learning since last September there are no mass outbreaks.  The schools my friends kids attend, no mass outbreaks and the kids who have contracted COVID-19, they have recovered without hospitalization.

Why isn't natural immunity being taken into consideration, or antibody tests being offered, what about all the kids who may already have natural immunity because of exposure to COVID-19.  Why is this Vaccine being forced on everyone across the board? I'll tell you why money and power, it all comes down to money and power.

My kids will be home this Monday, October 18th in protest to the Vaccine Mandate and if we have to do another sit out, walk out, whatever you want to call it, I will participate again. If we parents don't fight this now, we are going to have to deal with it within the next school year, and too often things are already set in motion that it is too late, we cannot just put it off until then. Homeschool and Private School Parents please do not think you are exempt, sit out, homeschoolers, report as unexcused absence, show up to peacefully protest, call and write.

Thank you for reading, please share and help spread the word I also want to say thank you to the people who have asked questions to find out my why in a kind and respectful way.  There is no reason to be mean and verbally attack people because they do not agree with you.  This is America, land of the free, or so it is supposed to be, you are free to think how you think.  I do not judge or think anything negative towards parents who choose the vaccine for their children, they are your children.  We should all be grown up enough to show respect to others, we should be able to peacefully protest, our children are watching.
