Ibotta, Shopkick Shopmium, and Target Cartwheel are the apps I use frequently.  I have used all of the above apps but I must say Ibotta is my favorite.  It’s easy to use and the money is immediately deposited in your PayPal account within 24 hours.  If you don't have a PayPal account you can cash out your earnings on a Starbucks gift card, Regal Movie gift card or iTunes gift card.

Ibotta is also my favorite because the rebates they offer are on items that I buy.  Too many times, money saving apps encourage you to buy things you weren’t planning on purchasing, so yes you saved money on it, but you wouldn’t have purchased it on your own.

With Ibotta you’ll find rebates on Milk, Ziplock Bags, Cereal, and things that most people purchase every week.  There is a task you complete to unlock the offers, simple tasks, such as learning a fact, watching a video, posting on Facebook and no more than three tasks to unlock an item, sometimes only one task.  

Once you have purchased the items, you verify your purchase by scanning the bar codes on the items and submitting a picture of your receipt.  Another benefit is if you use coupons, you can use your coupons at the store and save money and then submit your receipt and save additional money with the app.  There are offers for other things as well not just groceries, movie tickets, restaurants, apparel and much more.

One time they had a $15 rebate when you purchased 2 Campbells Slow Cooker Sauces which were $1.98 a pack and a slow cooker.  I purchased the 3 items and after my rebate it was $8 for a crockpot and 2 sauces that made for easy meals!

You could have purchased the smaller slow cookers and ended up spending like $2, but I actually needed a new slow cooker so I purchased the full size crockpot.  Click on the picture below to start saving money today!


Shopmium works just like Ibotta, but they don’t seem to have as many frequently used items like Ibotta.  I usually only find a deal I can use every other month or so.

Shopkick you earn KICKS for just walking into certain stores.  You may be able to scan some items in the store with your phone to earn more kicks and if you register the card you pay with you can also earn kicks when you pay.  You then redeem your Kicks for the gift card of your choice.

Target Cartwheel is mobile coupons and also sometimes you can add offers like 40% off kids’ clothes or different items.  You then have the cashier scan the bar code right on your cell phone and you receive the savings.  NOTE: you can only have a set number of deals added to your Target Cartwheel at a time, so it’s best to only add the ones you are planning on using, no need to add all the deals.  Also these expire much quicker, some run all month long, but most are to use within the current week.
