Fall is officially here even though it doesn't quite feel like it with our warm California weather. Now is the time to keep your eye out for candy sales to start stocking up for Halloween. I snapped this picture with a great selection of candy at the San Jose Lucky located at 2027 Camden Avenue. I like to pick up a couple bags of candy each week as I go to the grocery store, then it doesn't feel like I am spending a large amount on candy as it does when you purchase it all at once. We need a lot of candy during this time when you take into account school celebrations, church harvest festivals or trunk or treats and also to have at home for your local trick or treaters. This week is a great week to stock up on your everyday groceries as well with Lucky's 10 for $10 sale. It is also important to know what is in season, not only is it nice to be able to buy what is fresh but shopping around what is in season helps your budget too.  Plan on using Fall produce in your menu planning, like squash and apples.  Find ways to incorporate what is in season into your weekly meals.  I love making soups and roasted veggies with all our Fall favorites.
