I want to give a huge shout out to my local Save Mart who generously donated healthy snacks and drinks for my boys' end of year school Field Day at Antelope Christian Academy here in Antelope, CA.  What a great way to give back to the local community and support health and fitness. The students enjoyed an obstacle course, water balloon toss, relay races, jumping rope and more.  With physical activity, healthy snacks are essential to keep your energy up. Save Mart donated my boys' personal favorites, Cuties, Granola Bars, Goldfish and of course lots of water for the students to stay hydrated.

I frequent the Save Mart in the Crestview Village Shopping Center, 4708 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael, CA.  They happen to be right around the corner from where my son has soccer practice twice a week, which makes grocery shopping convenient while he is at practice.  The staff is always friendly and I love the low prices and great deals.

In my recent visit, I was able to meet the Store Manager Jeff Cox and Assistant Manager Martin.  Both gentlemen were extremely helpful and shared a genuine interest in our school event as well as future community events.   I so appreciate their generosity and community involvement.
Save Mart Companies is more than just a family-owned grocery chain. They are valuable members of the community. With that comes the responsibility to ensure our neighbors, workers, and environment thrive. Save Mart aspires to make the world a better place just like we shoppers do. The motto at The Save Mart Companies is to nourish the community. That has so many meanings, and that doesn’t necessarily involve food. It could be anything that makes us stronger as a community.
Although the Shares eScrip Program recently ended, serving the communities has always meant more than providing fresh food and high-quality services for shoppers. Investing in schools, safety net programs, local events, and community services is what it means to be part of each community and that commitment will not change.
The Save Mart Companies has decided to focus directly on the relationship between the stores and their immediate community. To that end, stores have expanded their involvement in your community in these areas:

Community Sports programs that sponsor neighborhood school and recreational teams and
provide them with weekly snacks throughout the season.

Adopt-a-School programs to support school events, recognize high performing teachers, support school libraries and encourage healthy eating through school field trips.

Agricultural Education through the support of Future Farmers of America and 4H programs.

Community Donations—our stores donate product or gift cards to support local school and community events.

For more information about how to get involved with the new programs, stop by any store to speak with your local Store Manager. Information can also be found on their website at https://www.thesavemartcompanies.com/social-responsibility/charitable-giving/.

As always, Save Mart supports local Feeding America food banks will continue through the Fresh Rescue program and their twice annual, in-store giving campaigns. The Save Mart Companies C.A.R.E.S. Foundation will continue to give over a quarter of a million dollars annually to community, arts, recreation, education and sports programs throughout operating areas. For more information on the C.A.R.E.S. Foundation please visit https://www.thesavemartcompanies.com/social-responsibility/charitable-giving/cares/.

I already love to support and shop local, even more so when companies give back.  I hope you will shop and support your local Save Mart as they are supporting our local communities.
